Eating the slice of sourdough bread that's thawing on the counter. As soon as I finish my salad I'm going to toast it, spread just a little butter and . . . yum.

Right this very minute I am looking forward to my lovely daughter walking out the door to drive to work. I will be alone in the house for the first time since... I don't even know when. I have big plans for the 4 or so hours I will be alone... all involving the back yard, books, and iced coffee.

It's also a unicorn summer day in SE PA... cool, a little breezy, NOT HUMID. Ahhhhh.....

Both looking forward to and somewhat dreading L moving on campus and starting college in a few weeks.

L is also finally taking the road test this afternoon, although at this point it’s mostly a symbol due to moving on campus in a few weeks.

I just called a recycling reseller store in my town to ask if they'll take the china cabinet in my garage, and they will come pick it up! I'm looking forward to it getting out of way.

But, it is HEAVY. Super heavy. Tore (or seriously wrecked)** something in my bicep/shoulder moving it heavy. So, I will have to let them know when my DH is around to help load it.

** I didn't seek medical help due to Covid shutdowns and it's getting better (slowly), so unless the healing stops progressing, I won't ever know what exactly I did. I've gone from about 30% use of my arm back to about 95% on my own.

Hitting my next weight loss target. In another 10lbs, I go from the "obese" BMI category to plain old "overweight". I will try on new jeans when I hit my new target.

Do I dare say planning school?

It’s no secret that I love teaching the teen years, but I’m at this weird place where my oldest at home is going to be taking college classes except government and math, my second oldest at home is super independent & academically strong except government and she’s outsourcing Spanish 3, Math, Lit. My third is taking two online classes, is mostly independent and very academically strong.

So... FOUR. I’m planning for FOUR and really just grades 2-6. This is going to be FUN. I’m FLOORED that I’m excited about elementary grades again, but here I am, like a brand new homeschool mama. 😉 😂

Camping in Colorado for a couple of weeks late August/early September.  Our thing we had planned for next week may get cancelled, my plans to get involved in society are cancelled until the surge is over. I had finally begun to make plans.  Short of one of us getting Covid, we should be able to go and I am really looking forward to getting out of this house.

Buying textbooks for the Fall! This summer, I have not been feeling up to shopping for anything at all as so many things were in flux, but I need to start ordering books and I enjoy doing that!

School starting so I can get back in my classroom with my little kiddos.

Going to Dallas and meeting up with some friends there, even if we decide to skip seeing Wicked (still unsure on that).  DH said, w/o me asking, we could still go and see the friends, and that just made my heart so super happy.

Never having to meal plan again because I think I'm gonna stick to the eMeals thing probably (we'll see, maybe it gets too repetitive, I'm only on the 2nd day of my 14 day free trial, but so far I'm stoked).

And using store pick up for groceries from now on, because, wow, they actually *can* pick produce. huh.

My mom is coming to visit on Monday, and I'm actually looking forward to that.

Trying out this blueberry bourbon limeade that was one of the recipes in the meal plan. *The dinner subscription has drink ideas* and I'm ridiculously happy about that (not always alcoholic ones; the other one is a peach spritzer thing w/o alcohol that also sounds good). Even if we mocktail the alcoholic ones, that will be super fun.

Having a few more days/week of these scrumptious smelling/looking lilies that a tutor student gave me at our last session yesterday. They are the most fragrant flowers I've ever had, and some are still closed buds, so I have many more days of enjoying those before they wilt.

Youngest will be heading off to college in the next few weeks, and my two older ones, too. They are raring to go and I am excited for them.

Life at home will be simpler - less laundry, less groceries, less cooking, less hustle and bustle - and dh and I will have more time to ourselves, which sounds pretty blissful!

Similar situation— DS is off to university soon and then suddenly we become empty nesters…idk if I’m looking forward to it exactly. I’m not really sure how I feel yet.

Eldest ds goes off to grad school next year, middle ds is on his own already, and youngest ds graduates from college and already has a job offer upon graduation and will be on his own. The whole thought of how much less cooking and laundry there will be makes my heart sing.

But first I have to get through the crying. I adore all my kids, but youngest ds and I are super super close. He is my buddy! It was hard when he left for college, but I had all the breaks, and the long summer. This is it. 9 months from now, my buddy will move away for good. 😪

I don’t really have anything specific to look forward to right now, and I’m really antsy.

I would like to take a solo trip to the beach for a few days but Delta… Also, for some reason dh acts put out/stressed out when I bring it up. I mean I understand, so I’ll revisit the idea in a couple of weeks after we’ve got dd settled at college.

Spring. It's so cold here at the moment. Getting some new books to read. We're under strict lockdown so no plans apart from that, I think we will be in this situation till Christmas.

I would love to do this but it SO hot and humid here.

LOL, no camping in the summers in Alabama! Last week was just wretched when we were working on the house! So, spring, fall, or winter camping when we get there. Summer is for the pool or indoors!

Opposite here. Looking forward to fall because it's so hot here.

Our first ever family vacation in December. We have done lots of road trips out of necessity, even stopped by Disneyland on a cross country move, but a real vacation, with expensive food, no obligations and souvenirs? This is our first.

Fall with cooler weather and hopefully some rain.

Vacation this fall, although a bit sad DD won't be able to join us.

DS getting through all his specialist appointments so he can get on with his enlistment if the doctors clear him.  I don't want to see him go, but it is his goal so I am trying to be supportive.

I will have twin nieces soon!!

I'm also looking forward to my house being back in order. I put so much energy into my parents' house that my house is a nightmare right now. Yesterday I started the process and got the living room back in order, filled 2 boxes of books for goodwill, and did a ton of laundry. Today I focus on the computer/toy room. Hoping for two more boxes of stuff for goodwill today

A short vacay to a nearby lake in a couple of weeks.  Currently working on my packing list and meal planning for the days we don't get take out!  It's been several years since we've been on vacay due to elder care and Covid.

My ooooohh--sooooo curly doodle dog, is getting groomed tomorrow!  I am so happy she will no  longer be smelly!

I'm sad she is losing her curls for a while, but relieved to have some fresh air! It costs about $90 to have her fully groomed, so I can only do it every couple of months. We bathe her at home, but when she needs a  clip and nails are done....she goes to the groomers.

I take her for a run at the dog park most nights, where she gets really dusty. It seems obvious, but one of those things I never thought of prior to having a dog. Dog park dirt....is smellier than regular dirt!!!

Oooh, good one!  Doodle dog here is due for a haircut and spa treatment.  They really do collect dust and dirt.  Our other girl (Aussie) has long hair but we never have that gasping-for-fresh-air feeling when she’s due for a bath.

Hope your pup has a good day at the doggy spa!

Trial in 2 weeks so this ordeal can be done with.

We had a calendar update court date on the 5th.   I attended from the middle of the lake on a boat 😋.   Anyway, she has two new attorneys, one is a GAL who has been appointed to her (not the child) and then she has her regular attorney.   They were both signed 5 weeks ago when she "fired" her other court appointed attorneys.

BOTH new attorneys said they have tried multiple ways and multiple times to get a hold of her and she won't return their calls or emails or certified mail.   Both expressed concern that trial is in 2 weeks and they have nothing to go on.

The judge was very stern and told her that trial WiLL happen on the 20th whether or not she speaks to her representation.

Her response?   "Oh, yeah, I broke my phone yesterday, that's why I didn't call."  😂

I entered two of my watercolor paintings in the fair. They judge tommorow. I will still love those paintings without ribbons, but it would feel nice if they win their categories, too. 🙂

Being done with moving.  The past month or so has been constant with packing and moving my mother, my daughter, parts of my business.  This weekend should be the last of it since I'm giving up my storage unit as of tomorrow.  I have to empty it out into a storage space near my actual business instead of a storage unit facility miles away.   Mom had her closing yesterday so is now all moved (but is moving again into an addition at our house that we are building), and dd was done about a week ago.   I've had around 12,000 steps every day for the past few weeks.  And I'm doing summer camps all day every other week.

This summer isn't going the way I hoped with cleaning my house, teaching the kids, having some fun.  I'm doing nothing but packing and moving stuff.
