Slache
If anyone missed, a large number of us are committing to do 20 somethings between November 1st and 20th. I'll be walking a mile a day on the treadmill, others are running, walking the dog, rowing or doing summersaults. The twenty days are completed the Friday before Thanksgiving so this should not intrude on people's plans. Please join! IfIOnly
I'm going to need to walk with my DD the first two days because I won't have anyone home to watch her. That's a bonus for me as it's been awhile since we've walked together. She likes to ride her bike alongside me. Thank you!
Lady Florida.
Thank you for doing this! I'm looking forward to starting tomorrow. Florida's version of fall kicked in just in time. For the next week or so we'll have temperatures in the low 80s, and it will probably be down to around 75 in the evening when I like to walk. I still might end up doing some indoor walking on days when I can't take to time to walk outside.
Ali in OR
I like this idea. I end my online day working in a high school around 3:00 each day and then tend to stress eat. I'm going to try for 20 days of late afternoon or evening physical activity (I already have an early morning workout). I like the idea of walking a mile, but if it's rainy I might wimp out, but I'm sure I could talk myself into yoga if I don't want to walk.
Ali in OR
And now that I've read the original thread, I will aim for the walk each day, outside unless the weather is really bad. I need to get up and moving and get some fresh air after sitting at my desk all day.
PinkTulip
Ooh, I didn’t join before, but would like to now. I commit to rowing on my rowing machine for 20 minutes every day for 20 days. This will hopefully help me get closer to my goal of losing 20 pounds in 2020. (Made good progress until quarantine, and since then have gained and lost the same 10 pounds since - currently down 17).
Jentrovert
Thanks for the reminder! I'm aiming to do *something* for 30 minutes each day; most likely walking or yoga, maybe dancing. I might add a somersault, but probably not. The last one I did was well-received by my children, but not by my neck.
happi duck
I'm planning on NaNoWriMo and an online cooking class so I'll be in for 20 cooking lessons and 20,000 words by 11/20! 1

Well sure, show me up. 😉 I'd only been planning on committing to rowing the one mile each day, which I can do in about 8 minutes. 🙄 But once I actually get going, I'm usually up for more, either more rowing or doing other exercise, so I love the dailyness of this challenge. So I'll say 'at least' a mile a day on the rower, as I know I can do that even if somehow the day gets away from me, but hopefully it will get me back in the groove of doing other stuff as well.
purpleowl
I hope I am still able to do this. I'm having issues with a blister on my heel, which interferes with walking plans. I will spare y'all the gross details, lol. I'll do my best to participate in some way.

There are live q and a sessions but the lessons are videos and articles. I'm hoping this challenge gets me in gear!! https://www.forksoverknives.com/cooking-course/ Eta: I think the "school" that runs the course has other classes for other types of cooking too. Lady Florida.
Ugh. Looks like it might be raining at the time when I can go for a walk. historically accurate
Super cold windy walk this morning. 23 degree wind chill. My neighborhood consists of 3 interlocking circles like a Venn diagram. If I walk the outer parts of the 3 circles, it comes to 1.04 miles. So that was what I walked. My 15 yo DD joined me although we didn't talk at all since we both had hoods on and earbuds in.

ktgrok
I made some printables, to keep track. Some have miles, some are generic for 20 of anything. (there are multiple pages at each link, print whichever you want, if you want). Or, make your own on Canva 🙂 I'm doing the runmotivators 2020 dumpster fire challenge, and really wanted the shirt, but they are sold out. So I got the medal (going to put it on the christmas tree) and am going to make my own shirt with Canva and an iron on printable I make on Canva. If anyone wants to memorialize this they could do the same, or I bet there is a way to make a christmas ornament yourself, or we could design a Hive 2020 t-shirt for all of us? Make them on one of those Tspring type places? https://drive.google.com/file/d/1KlImyBnPUM8eUEyOnZIEtJs6_oGinHrL/view?usp=sharing https://drive.google.com/file/d/1sxCaelgBSJf1GiwjFooVJ3cl3x9hPv2w/view?usp=sharing Edited November 1, 2020 by ktgrok 2

My husband has volunteered to put his 3-D printer to use for the purpose. I'm planning to come up with some kind of design today so he can get to work converting it to the appropriate format for printing. If anyone would like one, please just PM me your mailing address, and I will send them out as soon as I get them printed and painted. (I should probably clarify, by the way, that this is my gift to the group.) Edited November 1, 2020 by Jenny in Florida 7

Pam in CT
Day 1 (Nov 1) - Mile 1 (outside, 1.1 mile dog walk around neighborhood) My personal challenge is not going to be the distance; it's going to be doing it OUTDOORS instead of on the elliptical. Today is dreary and cold and gray, the sort of day I find very difficult to rouse myself to sally forth into. Also I'd failed to work out that the opening day of this challenge happens to fall on Daylight Losing Day, and that the sun is now setting at 5:10p, shoot me right now.

Ali in OR
Day 1 done. I measured my favorite neighborhood loop and it's 1.1 miles--perfect for this challenge. Normally I'll be trying to do this after my school day, and like @Pam in CT, I've decide to aim for outdoor exercise as I spend entirely too much time inside. Easy to do on a day this gorgeous, but we'll have some rain this week and temps will get lower in another week. Molly is going to be doing the challenge with me.
