Quick update...

'Something' is happening in my other arm now, too.   Being sent for ultrasound.   Dr has mentioned maybe autoimmune disorder causing vasculitis, blood clot, or possibly something else. 😞    Had blood drawn today.   She said my last bloodwork (I don't know if she meant from the hospital 2 weeks ago or from her office) showed elevated iron, but I don't think it was bad high, just elevated.    I am extremely tired and worn out.   I couldn't even hold a to-go box of food the other day.  Dh had to take it from me.   I don't know what, if anything, is going on.  I'm tired.

What is your blood pressure like?

Are you sure your other infection is gone? Are they going to check your WBC count?

Blood pressure is around 117/72 I think.  They’re extending my doxycycline several more days and putting me on steroids for a few days to see what happens while we get the blood results in.   I don’t anticipate my blood numbers being off.   She called the head dr in (around 85yo) because she’s stumped.   She mentioned lupus, RA, blood clot, C-word).  I looked up some stuff and saw a couple of AI things it could be.  Of course, it could be nothing.  That’s what always seems to happen to me.  I feel like crap, blood work shows nothing, and  nothing really happens.

Please go to the ER now.

I would be rather safe than sorry.

Don't worry, I've already seen 2 docs today and am waiting for the hospital to fit me in for an ultrasound.    I'm just whining and it scared the crap out of me when the other dr came in and they talked off in the corner.    I just want my arms to stop hurting.   We had 2 trees cut down last week and I need to smooth out the dirt but I can't even lift my arms hardly, much less drag a rake around.   Waiting around is the pits.   How long does it usually take to get blood work back?    My mind is going in all kinds of bad directions right now.

My son’s monthly blood work usually takes less than an hour to come back, with the ck results always taking a few hours longer than everything else.

FWIW, I can usually get my metabolic panels and cbc with differentials back in a couple of hours, but the more complicated stuff is usually the next day or two, depending on what was run and why. In particular, I have had a rheumatologist who only has a specific pathologist read ana or other labs that require some skill for interpretation.

If you have a medical portal, you might also check there. My hospital will release labs directly to the portal, but it might take another day or two for the doctor to call me.

Hugs, I am sorry you are having to play the waiting game.

I get hives from tree “dust” so I think it would be safer to let your husband handle the tree debris.

My comprehensive metabolic panel and complete blood count takes an hour. Some blood test results aren’t auto released and takes a few hours to show up on my patient portal. My doctors usually let me know if a blood test is going to take a few days for results to be uploaded. Think the thyroid blood test was one of those that took more than than a day.

Slightly odd thought- any chance you have changed your deodorant or checked to see if the company has a new source for ingredients?  I know someone very well who had an issue similar to what you are describing and that was what it was.  Took her three months, numerous specialists, lots of trying this medication and then her son’s allergist figured it out.

No I haven’t, but I’m so glad you posted this because it’s making me feel better about it being something simple!    You’ve got me thinking!! 💛

Still thinking of you and hoping for a positive update soon

Me, too!    Maybe no news is good news?  Idk.
So far, the new lumps on my veins are still there.  Dr wanted to see what steroids would do and after 2 days, I’d say the steroids may have stopped it from progressing, but the redness hasn’t changed and the knots are still there.   Line is still on my vein in the original arm from two weeks ago.  It still is bruised but not real red and no lumps. I’m stumped, tbh.

Tell me that this is probably nothing.  I am in panic mode right now, waiting on call back from dr.  I thought I'd wake up this morning a it would be all but gone, but it's creeped further up the vein and there's another lump. Whole vein is tender.  This could just be lymph something right?  Just something because I need to lose weight, im more susceptible to some luymph issue right?     I've felt bad all weekend, joints in pain,  burning face, burning skin on my arms.  This best scenario is just some blood infection or lymph thing right?

Call the doc asap or the ER.   Sending so many good thoughts your way.  Please check in when you can today.
