Back in hospital - update with plans

I felt tired and worn down yesterday. In the idle of the night, I felt something was wrong so I showered and drove to the local sister hospital of where I was.

My left lung is 30 to 40 % full of fluid and the Dr is stunned I don't feel worse. Called a pulmonary effusion. It was predisposed by the ribs, bruising and trauma.

I am in ER now but am being admitted.

That stinks.

They stuck a big needle in my chest after a lung collapse. It let the air that was in the chest cavity out.  The best part?  The "I don't care shot."  It was great! I was awake but I don't remember procedure. It was weird the way after getting the "I don't care shot" everything seemed funny and no big deal.  It takes affect quickly which is good because I was really stressed about it.  May you and anyone else in such a situation be blessed with an "I don't care" shot as needed.

Read your update. I'm so sorry.

My 4 year old instructs you to listen to Daniel Tiger's advice about needles - "don't look". DS considers himself quite the expert after watching the episode about being afraid of the doctor.

You can get through this. You're one of the strongest ladies out there!

Praying for you!

Yep, that will suck...... quite literally!   It won't fell good but honestly you will likely feel quite a bit better as soon as they get some of that fluid out of you.  It will help you get better faster too, if your immune system isn't having to work so hard to deal with the growing cesspool in your lung.

Prayers, positive thoughts and well wishes for a speedy recovery.   :grouphug:
