Unicorn.
Mummies. :tongue_smilie: It was never meant to become a tradition, but it has and dd won't let us have anything else. Mummies are hot dogs wrapped in crescent rolls w/ only a tiny slit (face) of the dog showing. Two tiny mustard dots for eyes. I got the idea from Family Fun mag one year when the were little, and we have had them every year since. did I mention that I hate hot dogs! Parrothead
We had a pumpkin carving party last night so we are having left over chili and left over gumbo throughout the day depending on one's mood. There is also pumpkin bread, grapes and pineapple chunks left over.

AK_Mom4
Protein. Protein. Protein. I think I will make up some chili tonight and some corn bread muffins so people can grab dinner when it works for them. The teens have music practice until 6:30 or so and then are "escorting" the 10yo T-n-Ting. That's just an excuse, of course, to put on costumes and have some fun since they consider themselves too old to go out.

And likely every 15th and 31st of October for years to come. It's DS's favorite meal option, so we have it on Halloween and on his birthday. They're fun... but YUCK! jewellsmommy
There is a decent $5 pizza place close to our church. That will keep the kids busy while I am trying to secure a giant bounce house. I, on the other hand, will probably not get to eat until long after the festivities. :glare: I guess I will just have to survive on candy :001_rolleyes:. the evolving homemaker
PIZZA! I was gonna order it, but had a sick one yesterday who is still on the mend, so I will throw the dough in the breadmaker this afternoon and have the pizza ready for when swim lessons are over! Happy Halloween! :) jen
HLDoll
A big pot of hot soup, probably potato chowder. We don't make a big deal of Halloween, so we'll all settle in for a family movie with the doorbell disconnected and munch on some candy my mom sent over for the kids. My kids dress up pretty much every day of the year, so they aren't missing anything, and we'll go buy candy and costumes on sale later in the week! gingersmom
Since school was cancelled today for public school (and for many towns around us), we decided to have a homeschool day off. So we are going bowling and then to Cracker Barrel for dinner.
Crissy
Spaghetti and meatballs. My dad made such wonderful meatballs and marinara for our football party yesterday, and there was far more than enough for the guests. He sent the leftovers home with me, so I'm serving them tonight along with garlic bread and a salad.

BarbecueMom
We're doing the hot dog mummies and "candy corn" pizza. I might experiment with an eyeball salad, jello with grapes and whipped cream. It'll depend on how much time I have - DS2 has roseola and is pretty miserable. Just Kate
Homemade vegetable soup and cornbread. This is a teadition from when I was a child and it is what we have every year.
Joker
We're making pizza. The dough has already been made and is in the fridge. It's one of the only things that fills them up for more than an hour so I'm hoping they won't be too candy crazed.

LaxMom
Baked chicken, Mac & cheese and salad. And the only part I'm responsible for is the salad. No idea what sort I'll scare up, but I'm pretty excited that that is the extent of my dinner planning tonight.
Jennifer in MI
Either chili and cornbread, salad, broccoli OR Homemade pizza. I think the chili would be easier!
2_girls_mommy
We had pumpkin pancakes with apple slice faces this morning already. We will eat more of those for lunch/snack. I have chili in the crockpot going for tonight. I might make some cornbread to go along if I get time. MUST counteract the candy and sugar (of course they have had parties all week, so it is really a weeklong sugar fest going on around here!) jennsmile
Corndogs and curly fries. If we lived in town we would go to sonic for 50 cent corn dogs. We don't so we got some frozen.

BMW
IF dh does not have to work late, he will grill brats... and I'll add in salad and baked beans. IF dh does work late, I'll stick a djourno pizza and a few frozen burritos in the oven (Yes, I know that's terribly unhealthy). Well, I can still add in salad! We'll have baked beans and pierogies as sides and pumpkin pie for dessert.
Lady Florida.
Homemade mac & cheese, broccoli, tomato salad. I'm hoping the rain stops soon (it's supposed to be over by tonight). This will probably be ds' last year TOT, so I'd hate to see him get rained out. Then again, last year he said it was probably his final year, but decided to go with some friends tonight.
