  1. Thank you for the suggestion! Sounds perfect.
  2. I thought it would be fun to set up a photo share site for my siblings. We each live in different states and only get to see each other every other year. In the mean time our children are growing up fast! I am hoping for a site that we can download pictures and add captions. I have used Shutterfly for a school event, but we had problems downloading the pics when we needed them for a slideshow. Any other options besides Shutterfly or Facebook? Thanks!!
  3. I take one of my kids with me to help out, but never the whole family. Great one on one time.
  4. Ditto split pea soup. That is one of my family's favorites. These refried beans are great: http://allrecipes.com/recipe/refried-beans-without-the-refry/detail.aspx?event8=1&prop24=SR_Title&e11=refried%20beans%20without%20the%20refty&e8=Quick%20Search&event10=1&e7=Home%20Page Also, if you can get this book from your library she has some great suggestions relating to crock pot: Family Feasts for $75 a Week: A Penny-wise Mom Shares Her Recipe for Cutting Hundreds from Your Monthly Food Bill by Mary Ostyn (Sep 1, 2009)
  5. Can you call them and confirm that they delivered it? I would eat it if they can confirm it. My ds went to school in the same strip mall as an EA. They would sometimes bring free samples to the carpool lane, but it was like one bite size. So good! I can't imagine them delivering full arrangements all over town to drum up business. Someone must of sent it to you, or EA thinks you are very important. Enjoy!
  6. Cleaned out the fridge so we are having left overs. Beef stew for ds, chicken and rice soup for dh, veggie enchilada casserole for dd, and curried veggies over rice for me. I also found split pea and ham soup from Wed. night and 1/2 rotissary chicken from Friday night so we are all set for tomorrow's meal too!
  7. My weight spikes like that when I eat high sodium content. Just drink lots of water today and veggies with lean protein. Hopefully, you will get rid off that water by tomorrow's weigh-in. If not, don't stress out because it will come off at the scales the follow week. That happened to me when I ate imitation crab meat and a few other salty things the day before a weigh-in. The next day my weight was up instead of showing the 1 1/2 I lost. The following week I showed a record 4 pound lost, so it all works out in the end. Congrats on your weight loss. That is fantastic!
  8. When we first moved to DFW from CA I freaked out when I saw my first "Blank Cheerleader Lives Here" sign. To me it was like asking for trouble to advertise that a young teenage girl lived in this specific house. When I lived in CA, as MOPS leaders were not allowed to put our last name in our brochure for our personal protection. The police said that our address could be traced from our last name. Also it was recommended that we not put any bumper stickers on our cars that mentioned we were female or moms. Guess things are different in TX.
  9. Yes to the first sign in the Dallas area. I assumed they were fundraisers for the athletic and music booster clubs. They have them for all the hs sports team, band, orchestra and cheer.
  10. Seriously, my Dad always called it a Pro and Con Sheet. He used it all the time for major decisions.
  11. Maybe some volunteer work for your oldest. Something like an animal shelter or teen court. If you could get your youngest started on a hobby, like knitting, that she could work on when your oldest is gone, then you would have several hours a week to yourself.
  12. Not homeschool, but we went with the small charter school option. Our charter school is publicly funded, but it feels like a private school. We have been there 3 years and there is nothing with the public funding issue that has concerned me. Our middle school is about 225 students. Advantage is that it is a small family feel. The teachers go above and beyond, and the administrator know everyone by name the first week. The downside is that they have more homework then public and less sports teams. The other downside is that there is no after care, so someone would need to be available to pick your children up right when school lets out. Good luck. Praying that you work things out.
  13. That is close enough to fall weather for me. Off to start a pie crust! ETA - And these too. http://www.food.com/recipe/pumpkin-chocolate-chip-cookies-113637
  14. Consults are free. I would get a few more opinions before doing any more work.
