mom's gone....

Recommended Posts

God bless you, comfort you and restore you. From another one who has btdt, I know it has taken a toll, but I promise you will never, ever regret caring for your mom in such a loving way.

Your kids will take this with them and it will change their lives forever, and in a way that no other life lesson could. You have given them a gift along with the one you gave your mom.

:grouphug: to all of you!

Denise, I've been keeping up with your posts about your mom.

I just have to say, you sound like one amazing woman.

I'm so sorry for your loss. But I'm glad for you, in a way. I know you wanted your mom's suffering to be over, and now it is.

I pray strength, patience, love, energy, and support for you in the days to come. May our heavenly Father hold you in his arms, cradle you while you grieve, support you when you just don't have the strength to endure, and give you grace and peace abundantly.

Thank you all SO much for your prayers, help and comforting words. I really appreciate you all.

I'm so sorry that your mom passed away, Denise, but I know that the waiting has been torture for you, and I am very relieved that she died peacefully, as I could tell that you were worried about that.

I wish I knew what to say to help you feel better.

I'm so sorry. Four weeks ago today, I lost my mom as well. I don't know that I've faced anything more painful. I'll be praying for you and your family.

So sorry for your loss, Sandy. :( :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

Oh, Denise, major hugs for you. I know that sense of relief and devastation. Take good care and be extra gentle with yourself for a while.

Here's a poem for your mom:

Gone from My Sight by Henry van Dyke

I am standing upon the seashore. A ship at my side

spreads her white sails to the morning breeze and

starts for the blue ocean. She is an object of beauty

and strength. I stand and watch her until at length

she hangs like a speck of white cloud just where

the sea and sky come to mingle with each other.

Then someone at my side says: "There, she is gone!"

"Gone where?"

Gone from my sight. That is all. She is just as large in

mast and hull and spar as she was when she left my side and

she is just as able to bear her load of living freight to her

destined port.

Her diminished size is in me, not in her. And just at the

moment when someone at my side says: "There, she is gone!"

there are other eyes watching her coming, and other voices

ready to take up the glad shout: "Here she comes!"

And that is dying.
