  1. Might check for a broken coupler. We had this issue where washing machine wouldn't spin and made a buzzing noise when it got to spin cycle. It would drain water. Most couplers are made of plastic. Might be that the weight of all the clothes and water was too heavy.
  2. Oh my goodness! I'm glad that they are safe. I'm sorry that your son fell through the ice. Hopefully they will remember this and there will not be a next time.
  3. What wonderful news! I'm sure she'll have a great birthday. :party::party:
  4. Take a look at the local shelter first. The shelters where I'm at always seem to have Labs. Some will be Lab mixes, but sometimes you can find pure breed if that is what your heart is set on. Our last 6 dogs have all been shelter or breed rescue. Contact a Lab Rescue in your area they might have some that would be right for what you are looking for. Our last rescue was a shelter rescue Border Collie/Retriever mix, my son picked him out. "Rocky" was only 4 months when we got him. He 3.5 now and we couldn't have found a better buddy/fit for our family.:001_smile:
  5. I spent 15 yrs. in the dental field. If it was an allergy to latex you would see skin reaction around the field where the latex came in contact with skin.
  6. Well who else are you going to find to untie all those knots? :D
  7. "It is one of the most beautiful compensations of this life that no man can sincerely try to help another without helping himself... Serve and thou shall be served." Ralph Waldo Emerson
  8. My son is going to love it, thanks! :001_smile:
  9. Glad to hear things turned out well. Snug as a bug in a rug.:lol: Sometimes it just takes a bit for the lemons to be made into lemonade. :001_smile:
  10. If you can find a Filipino Martial Art ( Kali, Escrima, Arnis) near you then that might be a great choice since these arts promote ambidexterity by forcing the students to use both sides of their body at the same time. They also cross the midline quite a bit. Most of the Chinese Kung-Fu systems involve flowing motions that will cross the midline doing their forms. If none of these are available then I would go with the Kenpo Karate since depending on which Kenpo system it is may have some Chinese or Filipino influences. My son is in Kenpo/ MMA (mixed martial arts) and it has done wonders for him. We started this past summer. He does not have dyslexia but he does have AS and they sometimes have problems crossing the midline as well. HTH :001_smile:
  11. You might try putting a worn, dirty t-shirt in the crate with him. This way he can smell someone and might help him feel a little safer. Also have you tried an old clock that you can hear ticking? You can place that next to the crate.
  12. I have a 12 yr. old Aspie male and he abhors writing. He can do workpages but anything longer than a couple of sentences he wants to and gets to do it on the computer. No more frustration.
  13. I've had many a furry kiddo. :001_smile: From what you describe it sounds like she is doing better. I would continue to watch her and as long as she is improving you should be fine. If she seems to take a turn for the worse again then by all means call or visit the vet. You stated the vet did a through exam--did they check her for intestinal worms, if not then I would take her back and have them check for those.
  14. Oh my goodness! I cannot imagine. Bless yall hearts! :grouphug:
  15. We are in a homeschool group in the north Texas area that has a drama club. My son is in the drama club. They have been working on Alice in Wonderland and will be performing sometime the end of April in McKinney. We are hoping that others that homeschool will come to the play to see plays can be done by homeschoolers.
  16. Glad to hear you are back on the mend! Please make the next snow angel with a little less gusto. :001_smile:
  17. I don't know if this will help, but my son has asperger's syndrome. He does much better with curriculum that is multi-sensory. He used to be a horrible speller, until I found AAS. You could use AAS with her and see if she can express herself using the tiles to spell words that you are teaching. This might help you to know if she understands and just can't get it out.
  18. Keep it elevated as much as possible to keep swelling down. Once it starts to swell it will start throbbing. Should be much better in a couple of days, btdt. Rest.
