Just checking in to see how you’re feeling today!

Feeling okay. I am so rich in wonderful friends, I cannot begin to tell you how lucky I am. I have food out the wazoo; my bunco friends put together a big basket-overflowing-to-gift-bag of treats, books, magazines, lip balm, lotion, fuzzy socks - just everything! I have a terrific little cushion thay goes under the arm and keeps the left side comfy. It helped me sleep.

Just hanging around here reading and eating a bagel and apple my friends brought by. Try to take a little lap around the kitchen whenever my Fitbit buzzes me on the hour. ?

Glad to read that it's done (trust it was uneventful) and really glad to read you've got great friends there for you... May recovery go well and may it be gone, gone, gone - forever.

Yes, uneventful; surgery went as planned with no surprises. It will be a week or two before we have all the microbiology and pathology info to go on to the next step.

So now just trying to take it easy and heal up. My Fitbit thinks I’m dead. I have 639 steps walked today. ? Thats pretty pitiful!

If there has ever been a time to take the Fitbit off, it's now.  Do NOT let an inanimate object make you feel guilty about getting the rest you are supposed to get.

I’m mad at my Fitbit also because I noticed it isn’t really registering my steps today. I guess because this is not my normal stride and I am taking short steps with little arm movement.

But what I did want was the buzzing so I would not sit continuously for hours. I do want to be sure to circulate the blood at least a little every hour. So that was the purpose in leaving it to buzz me. ?

I guarantee you the studies done about how bad it is to sit still for hours were not done on people recovering from surgery.  Take the fitbit off.  Get up and move around when you feel restless and/or energetic.  In the mean time, rest.

I am glad to hear that your surgery went well and you have plenty of "support staff."

As for the FItbit...according to my dd, (I have not asked how she knows this) step goals can be reached rather rapidly when one's device is attached to a ceiling fan. ?

Keep the hive posted! You are in our thoughts!

Did my post-op today and the lymph node biopsy report is in - LYMPH NODES CLEAR! No spreading cancer! Also, margins tested: also clear!

Yay! Still waiting on tumor test results next week to know if chemo is still on the table, but no escaping cancer is a really great sign.

Crappy news ahead. I put up a post a bit over a month ago about cysts in the breast because I had a hard spot on Lefty. Well, the hard spot didn’t go away and, if anything, was getting more “organized” in the way it felt. So - in for mammo, which was due anyway. Also a breast ultrasound of Lefty. Then that sucky moment when the radiology doctor comes in to discuss images - never a good sign. He said, “I feel very certain this is not a cyst.” So I scheduled a needle biopsy, which I had last Thursday. Then the anxious weekend, waiting for a report.

Call came today, on my 24th wedding anniversary and the first day of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. (I have impecable timing.) I have Breast Cancer, friends. I will know more after my meeting Wednesday. Thanks for your prayers and healing thoughts. I am prepared to do battle.

UPDATE: surgery on the calendar Oct 30. I updated at the end of the thread, too, but we don’t have post numbers anymore.

UPDATE: Lymph nodes biposy: no cancer in nodes! Also, clear margins from tumor excision! Woooooohoooo!

Awesome!!! That’s fabulous news.

That is crazy great news!!!  Yay

How are you feeling today?

I still feel easily tired and a bit crappy, but that good news and the assurance that I am well on my way to healing does make up for it.

She did give me PT exercises I have to do to counteract the “cording” in my left arm. She wants to see the range of motion drastically improved by next Tuesday.
