Kari C in SC
We are getting our 14 old a lot of things she would just normally get like yoga pants, pj bottoms, socks, Hello Kitty t-shirt, gymnastics shorts, shoes, one of those themed winter hats, etc. Simply because she is hard to buy for. I know that typically I would provide clothing not as a gift, but have found that with teenagers that just becomes the gift! I did get her Converse shoes that were over what I would normally spend. I think this will be her favorite gift! I am also giving her a homemade gift card to get her ears double pierced. And... her bigger gift is that she is getting my gently used Kindle Fire because I am upgrading to an ipad. Basically, I have begun walking around behind her taking note of what clothing or other items she likes and then I go back and buy it for Christmas or her birthday. astrid
Molly is 15 and I totally HEAR YOU! :-) Â So far I've got a Beatles iphone 4 case, some books, clothes, THIS portable ipod speaker, and a few things from Etsy. She LOVES the Beatles and I found a few neat gifty things-- song lyric necklaces, etc. Does she have any sort of favorite bands, sports, interests? I've found lots of great gifts on Etsy, reasonably priced. Plus i like the idea of supporting local crafters. Hope that helps; I"l lhave my eyes on this thread looking for replies! Plateau Mama
Well I won't be much help. I'm getting my DD catchers gear. Everyone in the family is giving her $$ or gift cards towards this. For her stocking I have a Christmas ornament, a softball, candy. Â My difficult one is my 10 yo boy. I have NO ideas!
Karen in CO
My dd will turn 12 right before Christmas. She's getting an archery set, a Mocking Jay pen, and some jewlery. I'm not sure what else yet. She wants a puppy, but that isn't going to happen.
sheryl
DD turns 14 in May.  For Christmas I have only ideas at this point. She will NOT get everything on this list from us, but a few. It would be nice if extended family would follow this "wish list".  Robe Leather boots (riding/fashion combo look) Earrings (she just got her ears pierced 4+ weeks ago) Jewelry Holder (for those new earrings, braclets, necklaces, rings) Nice birthstone (real) necklace (we mined for this stone, had it cut/set) Amazon gift card (mp3 songs and other misc)  Needs: socks, shoes  That's a start only
Sparkle
My 12, almost 13 yo dd, asked for drawing paper and pencils since she's into drawing right now, an owl plushie, and Creatures 2 game for the computer (replacement for old one that doesn't run anymore). Last year she wanted yarn and crochet hooks. Oh yes, and Starbucks gift cards.
KarenNC
We're looking at an itunes gift card, art supplies, her favorite candy, manga (or a gift card to the local used bookstore that carries a lot of manga), a makeup/jewelry case with some makeup samples to experiment with (at home, not out--except for nail plish and lip gloss), mockingjay earrings, etc. We're also planning to buy some Dr. Who machine embroidery patterns from Etsy and have a local business embroider a Dr. Who scarf for her (tardis on one end, dalek on the other). I think I have enough fabric to make a matching hat, ear warmer and maybe wrist warmers. If I can, I'm hoping to make some little arumigumi figures---David Tennant, grim reaper, cthulu.zx
PeterPan
Well what I WANTED to get her was a potato ricer or a nice potato masher (or both). (I try to buy nice things that will last till she gets married.) Cooking things always go over big here. I ended up getting her little dishes you can use to make individual pies or pot pies. Should be fun this winter! Last year I got her a donut machine (Sunbeam, under $30), which she adores. Last year I made her a kit with supplies to make the recipes in this book. http://www.amazon.co...=ecobeautyĂ¯Â¿Â½Ă¯Â¿Â½She LOVES the book and makes the recipes frequently! She even gives them as gifts to her girlfriends. I got her a cute little lounging robe so she'd have something to wear while masking her face, hehe.  Slippers and socks always go over big here. I asked her grandma to look into a Wusthoff knife for her. She has outgrown the handle on mine (literally!) and needs a bigger style. She also adores the BH&G cookbook her grandma gave her a couple years ago. It has step by step pictures. Anything with pictures is good.  I've thought about getting her a subscription to Martha Stewart.  Do you have an ipad or tablet? Then you could do digital magazines and not have the mess.  You could find a mystery series she likes and get the books in the series. My dd has been on a mystery kick lately.  You could get her a scrapbook and supplies (a pad of paper, the proper tape). I did that a couple years ago, and my dd enjoys it.  Or just go to Kitchen Collection and walk around. You'll surely come out of there with something fun. She likes her apron and pretty spatulas. Unicorn.
Both dds are getting 2 new swimsuits,  Dd1 is getting a Hunger games t-shirt, and probably a portable dvd player. (She can't read or anything else in the car because she gets carsick, but she can watch movies, and has never asked for anything expensive before, so....) Probably some boots she wanted. I really have no clue.  Dd2- so far I have a pair of Cookie monster pajama pants, a Hogwarts alumni t-shirt, and I just ordered her a Dr. Who Tardis beach towel, and aDr. Who Tardis laplander (knit hat)  stockings for both: 2 pair of fuzzy socks, and Hunger games bracelets, and a cool pair of hunger games socks for dd1. They will probably get some nail polish, hair bands, lip gloss and maybe some mascara for their stockings too. Maybe some new earphones, duct tape, gift cards to a local coffee shop, and dd1 wants some more acrylic paint.

Nakia
I am going to take Anna to Universal so we can go to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. We won't actually go until February, but she's going to get a Hogwarts acceptance letter and Hogswart Express ticket for Christmas. :D Â She's also getting a pillow pet, a Harry Potter t-shirt, and some Harry Potter candy. The only thing she's actually asked for is a Trail of Painted Ponies horse so I'd like to get her one of those, but I'm not sure. She NEEDS a scarf and gloves... TXMomof4
Dd will be 13 in January and will be getting a phone then. She knows that so I bought her a cute little Betsy Johnson phone purse. Other than that I am clueless. She would love some Hollister clothes, but I can in no way justify paying $50 for a hoodie that she'll get tired of in a month. I've considered getting her a gift card to. A consignment store here. That's somewhat better than buying used clothing for Christmas- right? I may get her a poster of her favorite band. Boots maybe. She is the one stressing me out this year.

The pictures don't always do them justice, and you have to double-check the sizes since they don't always list them correctly but the prices are decent, and they are very picky about the quality they will accept. Live2Ride
Our dd turns 15 this week. We are debating between and Ipod nano or a kindle...other than that, I'm making her a cute birds nest necklace, a tshirt, and some button bobby pins. She'll also get a giftcard for our local chocolate shop and one from Amazon, socks, a new robe, a book she's wanted. Oh, I did order her a 2 yr subscription to Cooking Light magazine. I plan to put the issue I get first with a cute new apron. We've been trying to get her interested in cooking more as she loves reading the cooking magazines. Most of those items will be in her stocking. Â As another poster lamented, it's my 13 yr old son that isn't really wanting much this Christmas...he's a bit harder to buy for this year. Â We are hoping to go to Universal to TWWoHP in January or February, too, and it was just a few days ago that dd11 and dd8 were talking about getting a letter to go to Hogwarts. I've subbed to all of the Hogwarts-related lists; I love the idea of bringing some if this excitement to Christmas morning. On that note, I did just buy a Platform 9 3/4 decal for dd's room (typing on ipad - I don't see where to include a link but the I bought is here: http://www.etsy.com/listing/94100745/9-34-replica-sign-vinyl-wall-decal?ref=sr_gallery_12&ga_search_query=platform+9+3%2F4&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_ship_to=US&ga_ref=auto3&ga_search_type=all&ga_facet=platform+9+3%2F4), as well as a Hallows decal from the same seller. Nakia, are you making the Hogwarts ticket yourself, or do you have a recommendation for where to obtain one? Â DD11 is just a smidge younger than the age for this thread, but I'm just as stumped about what to get her as some of you are for your tween/teen girls. She'd love a bow for archery. Night Elf
Graphic tshirts of her favorite tv shows. An example is one that says I believe in Sherlock from the BBC Sherlock series. Cafe Press is a wonderful place to shop. Â CD's of her favorite BBC radio show. Â I'd like to buy her a pair of boots but she doesn't want me to spend the money. Â Stocking stuffers: Comfy Kicks (a foldable ballet slipper you can keep in your bag, but they aren't real ballet slippers). And an astrology book for her sign. I wish I had more stuff, but I'll round it out with her favorite types of candy. Â This is the first year I don't have a surprise gift for her because she is just too hard to buy for. She made an exact list for me. It's less than exciting for me, that's for sure. Â For some reason, all of my kids are being money conscious this year and they aren't asking for much. TGHEALTHYMOM
Our dd 12 will turn 13 on Dec. 28th! Â This year is awesome! Â She gets to go to Christmas Camp for 3 days FREE! Â Someone in our church anonymously offered to pay the $90 fee and her entire class is going as well, so she should have a ride. That reminds me, I had better register online today. Â Someone on here is also blessing her with a book and dvd set she desperately wanted. FREE! Â And I took her to see Breaking Dawn as her early birthday present. Â I really wish I could give her more special time with her dad, and the other night they got free tickets to a fundraiser for a wonderful meal. I was supposed to go with him, and I did not feel well nor did the baby, Â And she gets to go for 3 days to a Christian Conference after Christmas. We have helped with fundraising for this! Â Chocolate in the stocking and maybe some pens and paper. Mad Libs if I can find some!

partyof5
Dd 14 wants a wool pea coat from Delia's...she is getting that for certain. Â Other years we've gotten her yarn for her new knitting hobby, or tix to an event or concert. Â My husband gives all the girls a "date with Daddy" gift certificate and they LOVE planning this with him. It becomes a future gift that involves a personalized outing. I love this idea and so do they.
