I don't drive at night unless it's really late and no one else is on the road. I can't judge distances well at night and when cars are coming on the other side, I might as well be driving with my eyes closed because I can't see a thing.

Well dang, I'm looking for a tablet and would have bought a kindle fire for the discount.

I've heard about the newer pyrex exploding. My pyrex was handed down from my mother in law and is probably over 20 years old. I've never had any problems with it, but I am scared to buy new ones.

Well, all the teen girls around here today were talking about how bad her performance was and how she couldn't sing nor "twerk". She doesn't have the body or the booty to be trying to act and dance like that. The whole foam finger thingy they thought was disgusting. They thought that she was trying too hard and came off looking skanky and untalented. Twerking isn't a new thing, when I was a teen we called it booty shaking, and around here all the white, black, and brown girls do it. They even do it at on the public school dance and cheer teams.

I looked up hot guys from high school just to show my daughter how the "Hot Guy" you see now turns into the fat, middle aged, bald guy later in life. I also looked up some of the "Nerdy" guys to show her how they sometimes mature into quite nice looking men. Seriously, NONE of the hot guys from my high school stayed hot. Quite a few of the nerdy guys I wouldn't give the time of day turned out to be really nice looking later on in life.

My 24yo and 15yo STILL do it. Every time we all go somewhere together they argue and race each other to the car. I have to make them take turns, just like when they were little..lol.

I get these all the time from DHL supposedly except when I look at the senders address it is from some funky email addresses. I just delete them. I never click any links in emails.

I'm glad you posted this, I have the same problem. I thought I was the only one! I have only been able to wear Sketchers also. I've tried on tons of different brands of shoes and can't find any that fit right. I also have a high arch, and thought that maybe that has something to do with it.

We love it here too. Uncle Si is our favorite.

My daughter carried around her dolls and took them into stores up until she was around 10. She had a real baby stroller she put her babies or stuffed animals in, and also a car seat and carry all for them. She never got any negative comments or looks from anyone. Some of her friends even told her that they wished their parents would let them take their babies with them like I did. I figured she was only little once, so I let her enjoy her childhood. I also taught her to be self confident and if someone would have made fun of her, she would have laughed in their face and kept going. At 6 years old, my daughter would dress up in her ladybug costume, put her high heal play shoes on and go to Walmart dressed like that.

We vaccinate, but my daughter will not be getting this one. Like others have said, I feel like there hasn't been enough testing and that the risks outweight the benefits. That said, I have talked to my daughter about it (she's 14) and she's done her own reserch and said she didn't want it. I told her that when she gets older, if she decides she wants it then it is up to her.

I've been lurking here for about 4 years now, and finally signed up for an acct. when the board changed over. I feel like I know a lot of y'all. I signed up with the intention of posting and still find myself lurking. I tend to search for answers to any questions I have regarding homeschooling, and I've always found my answers here on the board already so I've never needed to post a question. I enjoy reading a lot of the posts on the chat board and I agree it is strange when someone without many post starts a thread like you mentioned. I need to start posting more.

My daughter just turned 14 in September and she got a new laptop for school, so she's not getting a whole lot for Christmas this year. She's getting an acoustic electric guitar and amp., Just Dance 4 Wii game, a Sodastream machine, and Hello Kitty pajamas. For her stocking I bought a couple rolls of decorative Duck Tape she's been asking for, an Oscar the Grouch necklace, fuzzy socks, some lip gloss, and I'll put some candy in there fill it up.
