Joanne Posted January 20, 2012 Share Posted January 20, 2012 My husband just called; we were approved for the Harris County "gold card" which allows access to medical care at a reduced rate. Now, when DH needs medical care, facilities will be paid something, and we can stop accumulating thousands in medical debt. Due to the kind and generous organization of a board member and the generous contributions of various (anonymous to me) board members, we were able to move in November. This is what made getting the coverage possible. It turns out "they" approved me for a card as well even though I did not apply :lol:. I will need to look into whether I should stick with my current coverage, which I share the cost with one of my employers.
