caitlinsmom Posted May 11, 2011 Share Posted May 11, 2011 My SIL had a tramatic birth that resulted in severe brain damage and cerebal palsy. She *should* have only lived hours but instead a miracle happened and she managed to live 36 years, relatively healthy. Until this last year. She has been hospitalized multiple times through the last year, had severe yeast infections that have covered her body, and multiple other things. Today we recieved word that she is in the hospital with liver failure, intestinal failure, lungs 80% filled with fluid, and major dehydration. There are no options except to make her comfortable. My dh is with his family now watching the minutes go by and spending the last moments with her. We all hope her passing is quick and peaceful. She's 3 1/2 now, and constantly in and out of the hospital. I can't imagine the stress and pain they must be going through, after having their miracle for 36 years.
