Tattoos? Piercings? Any other body mods?

I've got a big ol' Celtic knot in the middle of my back, between my shoulder blades. :)

Not me...it seems I've either been broke, pregnant or nursing since I came of age, so the timing's never worked out. I still hope to one day...

Dh on the other hand has multiple large tattoos, so he balances me out nicely. :tongue_smilie:

I've got seven tattoos...A raven and an owl on my back, a rose that says "daddy's girl" on my left ankle, a spider and a butterfly on my right ankle, a valknot on my upper left breast, and an eagle with an American flag on my right shoulder.

I've got 9 tattoos (I've had 10 done, but one was a cover up), I'm married to a tattoo artist and body piercer, and I've had a few piercings in my day but have since removed them all. :D

I have 3 tatoos. One on my back and two on my leg....

I only have ear piercings...but dd has her belly button done.

ME!! I have two tattoos. I got this when I turned 30, and it means so much to me. I am getting ready to have the flowers redone and the tree finished. The tattoo studio has commissioned me to do photography for them. So that means I am going to get some free ink. :)

This is a pic (very poor quality pic) of the tattoo I got this year. It has a very special meaning to me as well.

I would post a picture, but one of mine looks like a sheep getting it on with a cloud:(. It was supposed to be a moon with clouds, etc. I was so proud until about the tenth person asked me why I got a Porno sheep on my back. Oh well, it's on my shoulder so I don't have to look at it:). I suppose I should get it fixed one day.....

I have an extra piercing in one ear. That's all.

I have toyed with the idea of a tattoo for years, but waffled and never done anything about it.

Now I have to get this little growth removed from the back of my left shoulder, and I'm thinking when it all heals up, I may get a tattoo there to cover the scar. It will be visible when I wear tank tops (which is really why I'm getting the growth removed) so it stresses me out a bit. What if I hate it?

Pisces fish on the back of my shoulder--all black (gray now!) about 3 inches round.

In the past I've had the following piercings: ears, eyebrow, tongue, navel. All long ago closed (happily) with scars on eyebrow and navel.

I'm one of those people that neither regrets my tattoo nor loves it. It's just a part of me, like my elbows! :001_smile: (Got it at 18, now 31)

No tattoos. Yet.

I had my tongue pierced but removed it due to allergies. When I sneezed, it rattled on my teeth. One day I noticed a few hairline cracks in my teeth:crying: That was the day it was removed.

By the way, I love the photos!

Uh... I guess I qualify for this thread.

I have three sets of ear piercings, all in my lobes (boring, I know). I want a single in one of my upper ears, but am nervous as I hear they don't heal all that well.

My only tat is my eyeliner (upper and lower). Does that count? Would it be one or four? Or none, since it's not writing or a picture?

I do want a 'real' tat one day, but have no idea how to go about choosing. My heritage is meaningful to me, as is my astrological sign (signs plural, as I'm on the cusp), so I suppose I could start there....

I've got a big ol' Celtic knot in the middle of my back, between my shoulder blades. :)

I love Celtic knots. I used to want to do one around my upper arm but never got around to it. I do have a bunch of rings that are various knots but my oldest dd has "borrowed" them all.

I have a dream catcher on my shoulder that I had done when I got divorced. Someday I'd like to get something incorporating my kids names/birthdates.

I have double piercings in both ears. I used to have a cartiledge piercing (actually had it done twice) but it closed up when I had to take it out for surgery.

DD is planning to get a tattoo when she turns 18. She currently has double piercings in both ears and a nose ring. Her cartiledge piercing also closed up.

I have two tattoos currently and really, really want to get my third, but I have to convince my husband to let me get it and/or find the funds because it'll take up at least 75% of my back. I probably should also wait for my grandmother to die because if she ever found out about it, she'd have a stroke. (I know that sounds horrid, but I really like her and DON'T want to kill her.) My first tattoo is a small flower and greenery chain around my left ankle, a very open design with small purple flowers. My second tattoo is on my right arm, up near the shoulder. It's Bast wearing an ankh standing in front of two pillars, one blue and one red. The pillars symbolize my children providing strength for Bast even while she protects them. I love it.

I have two pairs of earrings in each ear as well.

I have a decent-sized dahlia on my right shoulder blade with my dad's initials on it. When he stayed with us for a while when we lived in FL he told me that after he divorced his first wife and was living with his mom and trying to get sober he bred dahlias. I had never seen one before. Then we moved to the Pacific Northwest and they're beautiful and they're everywhere and I LOVE THEM. So I got this tattoo for my 40th birthday to remember him by.

I would also like to get a golden poppy somewhere--I was born in CA and lived there until my late 20s and still get homesick for the Central Valley sometimes--but I haven't figured out where I'd put it.

Does it count if I wish I had a piercing? I've wanted my nose pierced for a couple of years. I couldn't before because I was working for a giant company where it was a no no, and I'm nursing now. I'm getting it done as a weaning present if we end up weaning before I'm pregnant again... ;)

I have a phoenix bursting out of flames on my shoulder.

Used to have a few piercings, but they're all out now (except the two holes in my ears - one each side... I know, I know, I'm living on the edge :D)

It shocks the heck out of my kids when they see pictures of me from before they were born. They're always like, "Mom, which one are you?" To which I reply, "The one with the goth makeup and purple hair (or blue, or pink, or fire-engine-red - it depends on the "era" of the photo).

Funny story... I do the makeup for our church's halloween shows, and was trying out a few ideas. I stepped out from the bathroom, and my dh said I looked just like my old self, to which the kids turned to look at me, screamed, and ran. HILARIOUS! I couldn't stop laughing!

I have a tattoo on my left shoulder blade area. It's technically a grouping of several small tattoos but as they were all done at the same time, as one piece, I count it as one. It's symbolic of my family.

ETA: I do have plans for one more for sure, and probably a 3rd. I'm just waiting for the opportunity to get the 2nd, and still figuring out exactly what I want for the 3rd. I figured out the where, just need the what.

000_0006.jpgHere's mine! The daisies are for my parents and sisters. The stars are for my husband and children.

That is really pretty!

Do you mind saying what part of your body it's on? I can't tell from the picture, but I love how it seems to wrap around to the side of whatever it is. Looks like a great location.

(if I'm being too nosy, just ignore me)

LOVE those. You and I think alike it seems -- here's the link to my tattoo story -- The Reader's Tattoo

For those reading between the lines, yes, the butterfly mostly symbolizes a baby we miscarried, though I tend to just say "loved ones we've lost" when talking to people, rather than go into the whole story. I would like to get a 2nd color added to it, the color of my dear stepmom's birthstone, as it has come to symbolize her to me as well.

And here is a photo for anyone who doesn't want to go over to my blog --

ETA: It's on my left shoulder blade, and the whole thing is about 4.5" across/up and down, and I love it.

I am married to a body piercer and have had more piercings than I can remember. My ears are currently stretched to 2 gg and all my other piercings are out.I have a full sleeve and 13 other pieces, with more in the works. DH has alot of ink too, and he still has several of his piercings. It is really quite amusing to go places and get the looks from being heavily modified along with the looks for being a large family. Most people are polite about it, the rest...eh, well, I am a duck. :D

I have two.

The one on my ankle I would love to get removed, or covered up, but I can't figure out what I would get put over it. I got it when I was 16. My boyfriend basically guilt tripped me into it, he got the same one on his hipbone, and wanted me to "prove" that I loved him. Nice. Well, I was 16 and fell for it.

Plus, it is a Star of David, and I am sick and tired of sort of explaining it... or having people assuming something about it. UGH. Luckily it is 24 years old, so it is giving up the ghost a bit...

The other one is on my inner arm and I don't mind it at all. I wish it was done a little better though.

BTW... I have magenta hair.
