  1. $1.5 to $6.8 million and I'm sure even higher but that was a quick check. This is why we live in a 2 bedroom condo :(
  2. I figured so I don't know why they wouldn't say that on their site. That saves me some money though, so Yay! Thanks :)
  3. I have AAS levels 1-3 for my older child with all of the tiles. She never used AAR because it was not available then. I want to use AAR for my 5yo and was able to buy most of level 1 used, minus the activity guide and magnets. My question is does AAR use the same tiles as AAS because I would hate to buy them and then end up just duplicating what I already have. I tried to look on the website in the FAQ's but couldn't find an answer nor could I see what tiles were included in AAR. I figured someone on here has/does use both programs and can chime in. Thanks!
  4. Ugh. Wrong board. That's what I get for trying to multitask ;)
  5. I just wanted to say I am in the middle of a December/January Christmas in Europe trip planning myself. I have no idea where we want to go yet though, so you're way more ahead of the game than I am :001_smile:
  6. I noticed in the trends that need to die thread that a lot of people were mentioning not finding bras that fit properly or weird hard to find sizing. I posted a response like this but I know it will probably be lost in the thread so I am posting it here. For my entire bra wearing life I always was told I was a 32 B, and although that was supposed to be my size I constantly felt like I had bad fitting, shifting, bras that you had to adjust all the time. I thought that was my normal since no store I was ever at sold under a 32 band and I was told on several occasion that was my size. Apparently that was my sister size which is what they will sell you when they don't actually carry your size. A few years ago a mom on one of my birth boards posted slink to a Reddit thread on how to properly measure yourself for a bra and it was a revelation. I went from wearing a 32 B to 28 DD (sounds like a large cup size but is not when you compare sister sizes) and it has changed my life. I never knew that a bra could fit so well or that it was supposed to. I order my bras from Fig Leaves in the UK because they have a huge variety of sizing but I know that some friends have had success from quite a few US stores. I personally find that the balconette styles works best for me and makes the most out of what I have….or don't have. Most of the women on my birth board that tried it had dramatic changes in their bra sizes. It was crazy. I can't imaging going back to the size I used to wear. Anyway, I thought someone mind find this helpful :)
  7. I can help you with that! A few years ago I was with you on the bad fitting, shifting, bra that you had to adjust all the time. I thought that was my normal since no store I was ever at sold under a 32 band. I actually thought I was a 32 band though until I read a reddit thread on how to measure yourself for a bra accurately and it was a game changer. I went from wearing a 32 B to 28 DD (sounds large but is not when you compare sister sizes) and it has changed my life. I never knew that a bra could fit so well or that it was supposed to. I order my bras from Fig Leaves in the UK because they have a huge variety of sizing. The balconette style works best for me and makes the most out of what I have….or don't have.
  8. One of my birth boards had severe drama and partially splintered over the death of Whitney. :001_huh: Definitely not my doing and it was such a train wreck to watch. We still talk about it to this day. I admit to having sadness over Kurt Cobain dying. I was 15 I was devastated. I was/am also sad about MJ, Adam Yauch from Beastie Boys, and now Bowie dying. I like music and these musicians were important to me at various points in my life. I was also really upset about the death of an author I read, but mostly because she left her last book on a cliff hanger and now I will never know.
  9. I read somewhere yesterday that the group Anonymous plans on helping. That they have found some evidence stating his innocence. It will bee interesting to see how it plays out.
  10. For older dd Harry Potter, Doctor Who, and Sherlock inspired stuff. It was like the British invasion was hanging out under the tree ;) and for dd5 we put together a doctor kit using a real vintage doctors bag, and real doctor tools, with a set of scrubs. She is obsessed with it, everything and everyone in the house is covered in bandaids and gauze wrappings. I think I have had my knee hammered enough to develop a small bruise ;)
  11. I love BBC detective shows and love Sherlock. I just watched River with Stellan Skarsgard which was very good. Luther is great as well but might not be as appropriate.
  12. He already bought me Frye Engineer Boots and I want the Ancestry.ca DNA Testing kit.
  13. We are completely secular here. Always have been. Most people I know are. I love, love, love Krampus. I wish it was one of those traditions that North America embraced along with Santa since they go nicely together. Going to a Krampuslauf is on my bucket list.
  14. Also, I have the Mr. Tea mug in this listing in pink (bought from this Etsy store) but I want the Lionel Richie "Hello is it tea you're looking for?" mug that is in this listing as well. They often sell it alone on here in a few different colours but they must be selling out fast for Christmas. They also have it in a teapot version that I am in love with.
  15. H&M has quite a few. I bought this one and it is quite warm (I live in Toronto).
  16. I bought this Harry Potter shirt for my dd11 for Christmas. Not crazy unique, but nice for someone who is a massive fan. It's great quality too.
  17. Fyi if you are interested in an acceptance letter or wand they have many different ones on Etsy for reasonable prices. I had my dd's acceptance letter sitting and waiting for her propped up against her Hedwig stuffy for when she woke up on her 11th birthday a couple of weeks ago. The wands on Etsy range from quite inexpensive to pricey and come in both resin and wood. I second the Hogwarts is here site, it is excellent. The Harry Potter colouring books in the adult colouring book section on Amazon are really quite beautiful. I think they have 4 or 5 different books now.
  18. Unlock math is run and created by a woman who was in my previous city. When she was starting the program she came into our local homeschool group and was looking fro beta testers and the results and reviews were quite impressive (I didn't beta because my daughter was too young then) but if I could afford it I definitely would enroll her now since she has always has a struggle with math and from the reviews back then it seemed like it would be worth it.
  19. Assimil instructions are very vague but on a language learning forum I frequent Assimil is one of the best recommended courses according to many polyglots on there. Apparently the Dutch book has instructions so someone was kind enough to post them for everyone. I use Assimil for my own studies and love it, so I am planning on using it with my daughter within the next year or two. The first half of the book is passive and takes not very long to complete. The second half of the book is the active phase where you begin translating from french to english and back again. 1. Listen to the text with the book closed. It does not matter if you do not understand what is said. You will gain a general impression of the sounds, hearing the pronunciation without being influenced by the spelling. 2. Listen to the recording a second time while looking at the English translation. 3. Read the French text aloud (with the aid of the phonetic transcription if necessary). Be sure you understand the meaning of each sentence, comparing it with the translation as required. 4. Now read the French text again, but this time without looking at the translation. 5. Listen to the recording twice, once while looking at the English translation, and once while looking at the French text. 6. Listen to the recording again with the book closed. At this point you should understand what is being said. 7. Listen to the recording once more. Stop the machine after each sentence, and try to repeat it aloud. 8. Carefully read the comments several times. Examine the French sentences being explained. These notes are very important. 9. Read the exercises. Repeat each sentence several times. The exercises review material from the current lesson and from preceding lessons. If you have forgotten certain words, consult the English translation. 10. Examine the examples of sentence structure. They show how words and phrases are combined in French, which is not always the same as in English. I keep these steps written down and use them as my bookmark so I can refer to them each lesson.
  20. My dd10 has done every session for the last 1.5 years. She loves it and she loves the team speak aspect for interaction. She was also one of the Beta testers for the iPad pocket edition course which is probably going to be an option for each session starting this fall. Her goals is to become one of the GM's on there.
  21. He is in tv/film and the hours vary depending if the show is mostly filmed in studio or if it is a travel show (different locations around the city/area). If it is mostly studio then the hours are usually around 80 hours a week. Since starting this new show he is working an average of 90-96 hours a week because they have a new location almost every day. Hello overtime and turnaround pay ;) Edited to add: my husband is not "in" actual tv and movies, he works behind the scenes. He is the locations guy that finds places and sets up where they are going to film. I didn't want to make is sound like he was a tv star ;)
  22. We are city-centre condo living people so the size range to choose from doesn't fluctuate too much unless you have a lot of money. We have 4 people here and it is a 650sq ft living space which I like it but it might be just a tad too small. If the layout was a little different and the kitchen was open concept it might feel better. Before this we had 950sq ft condo and it was too big, so I think around 800sq ft with an open concept layout and high ceilings would be perfect. I also want floor to ceiling windows and a small balcony.
  23. Jared Leto from My So Called Life. He still is. Apparently I am extremely loyal in all aspects of my life. ;)
  24. I am thinking of using Henle next year for 6th and I have no idea what I need to purchase to make it work. I looked up some old threads to get an idea but the links to books and sites didn't work anymore so I thought I would try a fresh thread. I read something about a syllabus for it, is that necessary or is it just really helpful? I like really helpful when it is in regards to making my planning and scheduling easier ;) Thanks!
