Sue G in PA
My oldest (9th gr.) starts on Aug. 9th. All the others start on the 16th. That's the plan anyway!
TravelingChris
Mostly on Aug 23rd. Some subjects later.
Desert Rat
August 16th. Although I've been considering sliding it to August 23rd. I've got a class on the 19th that would mess school up. I don't know if I want to start out the school year like that. :)
Karen in CO
I'm starting teaching on August 16, BUT I'm going to start counting on August 1st - dd9 is going to camp that week and dd5 will be in a half day zoo camp. The next week both girls will be in a week-long art camp. My first day is the 16th - and we'll spend that week studying astronomy and local history in the desert. The next week we'll start academics. We'll have three weeks of being on a get-up-early schedule before we start school. I think it will be a great way to start since this morning dd9 was snuggling with me in bed at 10am. gingersmom
We are starting on the last Monday in August. I wanted to start earlier but my daughter is having a 2 week skating boot camp (5 hours/day) and she will be too exhausted.
DesertDweller
August 16 for co-op. August 30 for classes at home.
Tree House Academy
I was planning for August 9, but have a dr appt on Aug 10. I hate to start and then miss the second day of school! :( I am thinking Aug 23 sounds really nice. LOL

Mimm
I'm going to try to start the 16th. If I'm ready. I haven't even gotten all my curriculum in. I really wasted the first part of the summer being wishy washy about whether we were going to homeschool or not so now I'm just trying not to freak out... ChiMomNP
We will be starting back on August 16th. We ease back in because our summer break was only 3 weeks. We will be at full steam by the first week in September. I'm very excited, I love the fall!
Guest Dulcimeramy
We start August 9. This is our first year to follow the local public school calendar.
3lilreds in NC
I'm not entirely sure. I just ordered our new curriculum this week. I am going to try REALLY hard to figure out Homeschool Tracker. It might kill me. I am thinking after Labor Day. Then the Snort will be in preschool and we can have those few hours without his "help." Teachin'Mine
August 2nd here too. It's been a very short and very hot summer. :svengo:
nono
The books get cracked Oct. 4. We get a month of good weather in Sept. without the vacationers, so it's all field trips and such.
Carrie12345
3 weeks ago! We're doing an every-other-week schedule through the summer, and starting back at full force in September so we can be flexible around Number Five's arrival.
kym
August 18 here. Oldest dd goes to ps, so we follow the school district's calendar. Makes it easier on all of us.
m0mmaBuck
Well, I started "school light" this week. DS is doing 1 page of math, 1 page of spelling, reading 1 section of the Complete Book of US History, and writing a 3 sentence summary of the history lesson each day unless we have an outing that precludes it. Our more rigorous schedule will start in September after Labor Day when his PS friends are back in school.

Ravin
August 1, I think. DSS's will be heading back to their dad's, and we'll kick off our new routines. Meet the teacher for DD's enrichment program is the 6th and class for that starts the following Friday (it's weekly), so we're running ahead of the PS schedule a bit. I want to get a jump on things because of the baby.

Crissy
We decided to take a couple of weeks off to get through a bunch of work projects and events, and to spend as much time as possible with family who is visiting from out of town. We'll get back to business on the 9th of August.

WiseOwlKnits
We follow our local ISD calendar, which means we start back Aug 23rd. Having said that, we really school year-round...but that's when we'll "hit the books hard" again.
Mrs Mungo
September sixth. We worked through most of the summer because we're taking August off.
patchfire
We started on Monday! Normally we follow the ps calendar, but first they were starting the week of dd's birthday, and I hated to do school three days and then have a break, and now they are starting ON dd's birthday. So... a week earlier it was. I'm actually really loving having a couple of weeks before all our outside activities gear up.

Mom22ns
August 16th. I'm ready, but I don't want to start. I'm excited about what we're using this year. It's just that we've really enjoyed our summer and I'm not ready for it to end.
MorganClassicalPrep
We started June 7th, but have been doing a very light schedule since we've spent most of the summer visiting family. We will be taking a 2-3 week break completely off at the end of August and then probably start on a more regular schedule September 6 or 13, depending on how we feel. gaillardia
Really? I don't even want to look at the calendar. I have always disliked starting back to school in August so we always wait until after Labor Day, and sometimes later.
Rosy
August 9. We were going to start on the 16th, but it turns out that's the only time I can go see my new baby nephew in Philly. So we'll split the first week into two half weeks. We've already started waking up early and our morning routine.
Tap
August 25 if we homeschool....After labor day if dd11 goes to private...we don't know for certain which we are doing this year. Amber in AUS
We have not finished our year yet. We will finish around 16 Dec and wont start back until the end of Jan.
