May be an image of text that says 'The worst part about parallel parking is the witnesses'

One day in a very small town near me, I had to parallel park our 12 passenger van.  It took me a bit and only happened because there was little traffic and nice big spots but I had 5 people watching and congratulate me.  Never have had to do it again 😂

I am very impressed!  I think people who can parallel park are superheroes.

It's on the driving test  in the UK. Not 12-seaters though! There's no way I could do that.

It was on mine, but it was in a maneuverability course, not live, in public on a regular street.

I was taught a trick for lining up that only worked in that car. I only became competent at it again in the past few years.

My driving instructor pulled that one too, but of course, that's not the car I'd be testing in. So annoying!

I think I could do it not in traffic. I once had to do it on the left here in the US. It was on a one-way little loop intended for parking and turning around. I was all kinds of messed up!

It is on our state's driving test.  That part was on the DMV lot, so they could always have it set up.  Which wasn't fair - it's harder to see cones than cars.

Mine rhymes:

30 Days Hath September,

April, June & November.

When short February's done,

All the rest have 31.

I've also heard

There's 30 days in September

April, June, and November

All the rest have 31

Except February - and that's no fun.

But honestly, who needs more than the first nine words?

Mine rhymes too:

30 days hath September,
April, June and November.
All the rest have 31,
'cept February which has 28,
And leap year brings another date.

That is an AABCC pattern, so there is some rhyming going on.

the classic version does kinda rhyme, you just have to power through the unwieldy part and hear 'one' and 'alone' as close enough:

thirty days hath September

april, june and November

all the rest have 31

except for February alone

which has 28 days clear

and 29 each leap year

In an oral tradition, there is no one "classic" version of anything, you know.

The only thing clear about leap years is that people have been wrangling with how to finish that rhyme for many generations. How about

...But not in leap year, that's the time, when February's days number 29?

Lol!  It was a total necessity!  I can't remember the errand but it absolutely had to be done and there was no where else to put it.  These days I'm an expert at finding pull-through spots when I'm in the van.

I had to parallel park on an incline for my driver’s test. I passed on the first try, but  I don’t think I’ve ever parallel parked since. I’d rather park far away from destination and walk than parallel park.

All my kids had to parallel park for their test. One kid lucked out and got the Subaru although he can back up a trailer better than me so I doubt he would have had problems. Everyone else had to do the test in an Excursion.

I was proud of parking that Excursion in Banff, Canada which appears to only have spots for compact cars.

OK mine is closer to this:

30 days has September,

April June and November

All the rest have 31

Except for February clear

with 28, and 29 in each. leap. year.

Mine is very similar.

30 days hath September,
April, June and November.
All the rest have 31
Excepting February clear

which has 28 days,

29 days each leap year.

Kareni

Yes, I need that! Though my kids are pretty well trained. They spring into action flapping kitchen towels at it until the smoke disperse enough and the beeping stops.
