I voted other for dh and ds because their favorite pie is chocolate bavarian. Personally I can't narrow it down to just one! I love fruit pies especially, but I am a big fan of pumpkin, sweet potato, and pecan as well.

I love lots of pies, but I usually make berry, chocolate, and pumpkin. I discovered last year while living in Virginia that a lot of traditional Southern pies are way too sweet for me, but I do love a good homemade-with-less-sugar sour cream and apple pie.

Key Lime is my favorite. However, there are truly more bad key lime pie recipes than good ones. So, I'm kind of picky about that.

 

I also love pecan, and that's what I selected for your poll. Chocolate bourbon pecan pie, to be exact, from a Sourhern Living recipe. Yum.

My neighbor's dog bit ds9 a few years ago, and she made a "peach offering" as an apology. Best peach pie I have ever tasted; I was tempted to go let the dog bite me to get another pie. The bite wasn't bad and DS9 was being a squirrelly kid and scared the dog, so I was not upset. :)

I make key lime, apple, cherry, chocolate, banana, unbaked strawberry, peach-raspberry, lemon, and pumpkin. Pumpkin is not my favorite, but if it's made with enough spices, I'll eat a little bit. ;)

In warm weather, I prefer berry or peach pies. In cold weather, I prefer pecan or cream pies. 

 

If I have to pick specifics, blackberry, cherry and pecan are my favorites.

I'm not really a pie person.  I think it's the crust.  I'm told I make an excellent apple pie with homemade crust.  I have exactly one slice a year when I do make it.  It's....fine, I guess.  The filling to a french silk pie is also OK.

You can also crush up macadamia nuts to add to the crust. Yum!

I voted pumpkin, but I pretty much love any pie that's cooked by someone else (not a machine.) I hate making pie crust.

 

I grew up spending my summers near the best pie-selling restaurant evah. Now I'm remembering them all and trying to figure out when I might be able to take 4 hours to drive out and back to get some!

A thick apple with cranberries is very nice...so I just voted apple. 

 

I didn't think I liked pie until I got older. I don't like standard pumpkin, overly sweet pecan, meringue, or store-made chocolate. 

 

Custard pie is good too. Or blueberry cream cheese.

I'm the opposite. The crust is usually the only part I like. Pie is altogether too sweet for me. I prefer most my treats to salty.

I'm not a HUGE pie person but dh is. I like just about any well-made pie (that means I need to make it :laugh: ). I add half as much sugar, other people's pies have too much sugar. And the crust has to be homemade. I'm picky - if I'm going to eat that many calories it better be worth it! I voted blueberry but I really like pumpkin too. I've never had a key lime pie that beats any of the rest though. Maybe I'm missing out on something....

Mmmmm....pecan pie. We are actually having pecan pie this year because someone else will eat it with me (my kids discovered they like it, too). My dh is not a big pie person. I guess cheesecake is not a pie, but I consider it a pie. ;) That's my real favorite.

For pie, I voted "chocolate," because that was my favorite back in ye olden pre-Gluten/Dairy/Soy/Tree Nut/Peanut free days. ;)

 

These days I generally find myself disappointed in pies, though I'm willing to try my hand one more time. I make a mean chocolate custard that can be a pie filling, and for something like Thanksgiving I'm willing to use a "gluten-free" pie crust mix rather than a grain-free/paleo version, because a) I'm okay with rice as a grain, and b) most paleo pie crusts call for nuts, which are not okay with my son.

 

I made a sort of apple pie cake today that WAS paleo-approved (using coconut flour and arrowroot flour) and assuming I don't go into labor between now and then, I will make a chocolate pie with a gluten-free crust.

I'll happily eat any of the above if they don't involve pumpkin or pecans. I should like to meet a real key lime pie one day. They started selling little key lime cheesecakes in the fridge section of the supermarket and they are pretty good. Home made is probably even better.

Yes! My pie preferences happily run towards the savory--gruyere and onion and bacon, broccoli and cheese, ham and mushroom, leek and potato. You get the idea :D
