Violet Crown
I have a B.A. in Plan II. I love it when people ask "What makes you think you can teach your kids every subject area, through high school level?" I can say "That's exactly what I majored in!" Julie Smith
DH and I are both college dropouts. I have plenty of college, no degree. My husband went to college for 6+ years. Never finished anything. 1 1/2 or other 2 years of science 3 years of programming If usually failed every other year. Mind you this was (I forget the proper name) Quebec college. So it was cheap, and started after grade 11.
2cents
BS in Business Admin. that got me a job in social work. Go figure.
chiguirre
I got my BS Econ and my MBA and then I studied philosophy for a couple of years in an adult ed program. I didn't do a thesis, but I learned a lot. That was probably the most useful education I had to be a homeschooler. ETA: The BS Econ and MBA paid for themselves many times over in increased earnings and better jobs.
jth
BS in Psychology, MEd in Special Education. angela in ohio
Stopped school to get married four years into my Bachelor's (I changed majors, so I had a while yet to go before I graduated.) I walked away from a full ride plus. :glare: Instead, I helped pay for dh to get his Bachelor's in Special Education (he got his Master's and is working on his Specialist's degree now.) Now I'm finishing up my degree in an entirely different field. I'm a Senior+ (:D) in Secondary Education with a double concentration in Math and Computer Science. I will probably also take the few extra classes to get my full Computer Science degree. Edited July 17, 2011 by angela in ohio

catz
I have 2 BS degrees (math and computer science) + a bunch of extra credits, but could never decide what to pursue for a masters. My husband has a BS (comp sci), a MS (software engineering), and some doctorate credit. I don't regret my college experience at all even though I'm not out working in corporate America at the moment. If we weren't educated the way we were, we aren't likely to be in a financial position to be homeschooling.

AmyP
No degree for me. I had a temper tantrum of sorts and joined the army after high school. Later I dropped out eight weeks short of an associates in Nursing. I've been back for social work, but still haven't finished (or made up my mind), and finally decided I'll have to wait until my younger two are older. swellmomma
I have 2 college certificates but no degrees. 1 was because I only finished 1 year of a 2 year program. The 1 year got me the qualifications to qualify for a higher certification with the gov't in my field. The other was a 10 month program I did for medical office assistant. But to date no 2 yr or 4 yr degrees.

Barb_
60 credits, got pregnant, dropped out. Met dh, got married and then had to decide who would finish college first since one of us had to take care of Meghan. He had fewer credits to go, so back he went. We had two more babies while he was finishing up, so I never returned. He was working full time and taking classes at night full time while I tended our three kids. In the middle of it all, he changed jobs and we bought a house. He studied all weekend long. We were only in our 20's, and looking back, I realize how remarkable it was to accomplish all of that in just a couple or three years. I'm actually pretty proud of us. :D

aggieamy
I have a BS in Civil Engineering - I own my own company so I find this to be a very helpful degree. :001_smile: DH got a BS in Biology and figured out that he couldn't do anything with that so he got a BS in Civil Engineering and then his masters. Now he's starting a game publishing company so he doesn't use it much anymore. We couldn't have gotten where we are now though without him having that eduacation and working for years in the engineering field. He also helps me occasionally on projects so it's nice that he keeps his certifications up.

JeneralMom
Yes, several. Stopped just short of getting my Doctorate (ran out of time, new female dean decided having 4 kids during grad school did not warrant me getting extra time because there was no equivalent a male could claim, so I ran out of time while writing my dissertation.) FO4UR
Bachelor's of Science in Education - Music Education, Vocal + a semester towards a Master's Degree in Church Music (Evidently motherhood & the rigorous schedule of a vocal major don't mix well for me.) ...considering going into a completely different field when my dc are grown, content with HSing as a career for the next decade or so. Capt_Uhura
Yes, several. Stopped just short of getting my Doctorate (ran out of time, new female dean decided having 4 kids during grad school did not warrant me getting extra time because there was no equivalent a male could claim, so I ran out of time while writing my dissertation.) That is insane. So I suppose we shouldn't get time off to give birth and should just squat in the lab and give birth since men can't do that either. You really should have fought that and gone public in every newspaper that would listen. That is just ridiculous. But I was in science and I know first hand that the women in power can be much worse for women than the men.

sleepymommy
I have a Bachelors Degree but have not really used it for anything.
