Alicia64
I'd especially love them on Netflix, but any are fine!
J-rap
Well our favorites are: White Christmas It's a Wonderful Life A Christmas Carol with George C Scott Close seconds are: A Muppets Christmas Carol Little Women with Winona Ryder (Not specifically a Christmas movie, but so much of it takes place in the winter and during Christmas that it's become a Christmas movie for us.) There are many others but those are definitely our favorites! Edited December 1, 2015 by J-rap
Eagle
Our favourites are: How The Grinch Stole Christmas (the original) The Snowman The Bear The Polar Express

Chess Dad
The Grinch with Jim Carry The three Santa Clause Movies were great. Are kids love them. The 2nd one was my favorite Home Alone - way funny If you want stupid silly, go with Christmas Vacation with Chevy Chase and of course, The classic "It's a Wonderful Life". is probably my favorite all time Christmas movie. Enjoy! :patriot:
Ellie
The Best Christmas Pageant Ever Jack Frost (with Michael Keaton) The Homecoming (Waltons) Santa Claus (with Dudley Moore) I have no idea if these are available on Netflix, though; we bought them before Netflix was invented, lol.
Chris in VA
I like Rudolph, White Christmas, and It's a Wonderful Life. We quote from Christmas Vacation from time to time--I have to watch my language more. It's pretty hilarious, in a really rude way. I also like the nativity part of Jesus of Nazareth. It's my fav nativity depiction.
TX Native
Elf is a good family movie. I think the Waltons Christmas (the Homecoming) is on YouTube. Atleast it was last year. I 💠the Waltons.

Ali in OR
Elf and Muppet Christmas Carol are the must-see movies here. We've been getting some of the old classics out of the library over the past few years, but I don't really feel the need to watch them again (It's a Wonderful Life, Miracle on 34th Street, White Christmas). We watch The Santa Clause and Polar Express, but not every year.
BrookValley.
I think Elf is the only Christmas movie I ever watch. We couldn't find it on Netflix last night, though.

milovany
We really enjoy foreign ones like Journey to the Christmas Star and Christmas Story (aka Joulutarina, not A Christmas Story!). The former is on Netflix; the latter used to be but isn't currently. Both are dubbed in English (which we find endearingly funny and add to our fondness in watching them; we get over it soon after starting the movie), but I've also tracked down and purchased DVDs that have the original Finnish/Norwegian language and also English subtitles. TammyS
You've had lots of good family movie recommendations. I would just add Die Hard, at least the first two. DH and I can't let a Christmas go by without them.
alisoncooks
My kids love those claymation Christmas movies (Rudolph, Cricket on the Hearth, Santa Claus is coming to Town). I hate them. We also like: Elf The Santa Clause (all of them) Arthur Christmas The Polar Express is good to play in the background while decorating, but pretty slow for actual watching... Disney Christmas Carol (cartoon with Jim Carrey) is good...but we like Mickey's Christmas Carol, too. I like Fred Claus a lot. I also like The Chistmas Story but no one else here does. We like Christmas Vacation but it's too adult for the kiddos still.

4ofus
Oh...a few years ago I ordered Emmit Otter's Jugband Christmas. I usually watch it one night while wrapping presents. The kids say they don't like it, but they somehow end up migrating to where I am watching it & loitering about until it's over :). And a couple of years ago there was the televised live Sound of Music with Carrie Underwood. I really liked that, but I haven't seen it since. skimomma
I think I'm the only person who doesn't like the movie version of Polar Express. I cannot say that I don't like the movie overall but I cannot watch it. The train on the ice scene gives me nightmares! Bad nightmares. I have only watched it one time and I have had that nightmare at least 100 times. Trains are scary. Ice is scary.
