Janie Grace
...does that make me a grinch? I can't stand it. Everyone is posting it on FB or emailing it around like it's the most insightful, inspirational song ever. I find it insipid and annoying and I want to scream after 30 seconds of it. If I was, indeed, happy before hearing it, I am no longer afterwards. Also, a room without a roof would be very cold and wet. There. Thanks for letting me get that off my chest. Back to my grinchy day.
SproutMamaK
I hate it too. I generally like HAPPY songs, but this song is just over the top fluff... I like my music to have some actual substance. I'm sure there are some days when I would love a song like that, but I haven't had a day like that lately, lol. ajfries
I hate this song, too. It irritates me to no end.

twoxcell
 How can anyone ever get tired of the fox song? We are rocking out to Happy now thanks to your recommendation. :leaving: That is if you meant the song from Despicable Me 2? JustEm
ugh!! i wish i didn't listen to it. Its a very bad song
Butter
I don't hate it, but there is something annoying about it that makes me feel like I should be dancing to it at a disco 40 years ago.
Jenny in Florida
I had never heard it or heard of it until it was chosen as the music for my son's competition tap duet. It's not something I'd put on my iPod to listen to on purpose, but I don't dislike it. And the duet is really cheerful and an awful lot of fun to watch. Dory
It's not my favorite (by a long shot), but my kids love it. I have a couple different playlists with their favorite songs, one classical list, and one of all the rest. I'd rather listen to that song than some others that I've heard. caitlinsmom
lol Today was the first day I've ever heard it. Obnoxious yes, but something the kids all started happily dancing too. I am sure it will have more air time at my house. Here is the little video that introduced me to the song today for those who don't know it. PS. You can learn to Hustle (the dance) in the process
itsheresomewhere
That song is just as bad as his Arby's hat.
aggieamy
We were just all tired of What Does the Fox say. DD just showed that video to me and DH. Slartibartfast
DD just showed that video to me and DH. Our reaction: :confused1: I didn't know if it was a joke or not. I still don't actually ...Yeah it is a joke. Their other songs are also goofy (but many have lyrics people might not want their kids to hear )
Word Nerd
I love it (and have ever since first hearing it at the drive-in last summer while our family was watching Despicable Me 2). Because happy.
Word Nerd
DD just showed that video to me and DH. Our reaction: :confused1: I didn't know if it was a joke or not. I still don't actually ... It's absolutely meant to be tongue in cheek! They're kind of like a Norwegian Flight of the Conchords.
mytwomonkeys
I just broke down & watched the video on youtube. <<<ducking>>> I liked it, lol. It made me happy & I loved the celebrity appearances. I've never heard of this song though & I don't have Facebook, so I can see how it would be annoying if everyone is posting it, sharing it, and making up go-along dances to it. :) I've had my fill now. I've smiled and can move along.
mytwomonkeys
I love it (and have ever since first hearing it at the drive-in last summer while our family was watching Despicable Me 2). Because happy. Okay. That makes sense now!!! I had no idea why the minion was in that video!! lol. I guess the other people are the voices from that movie --- all making sense now --- sloooowly :)

poppy
I saw Pharrell on Saturday Night Live singing this song. My husband walked in and said "who's the teenager?" Pharrell has been around since I saw in high school. I am 39. I have to start using whatever moisturizer he uses. (And start wearing big hats and being skinny......) bettyandbob
We love the song. We get up and dance to it. Lots of songs drive me crazy, but not this one. Maybe I just like the simple sentiment, because my life is not simple. It's good to be reminded to have a nice easy thought. If you do not like the song there YOU are the problem. And YOU are not my friend anymore. :001_smile:
Zuzu822
I don't love the song, but I do find myself smiling at the videos that feature local places and faces. Syracuse University did one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=osMrBj_AWfU And there's a general one for Syracuse too: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=og80DGs7UiE Anything to get through the long winter, right?
KathyBC
The video is cute.To cheer ourselves up, we danced around to Happy a few times this 'spring', when it was still snowing and cold. That said, it could definitely be overplayed.
trulycrabby
I like the song, but mostly because of the catchy beat. Pharrell is pretty darned cute, too, even if he does wear funny hats.
Lady Florida.
I know how you feel about hating songs others like. Just because this one is about being happy, that doesn't make you a grinch. :) I like it partly because it's...so happy, but I also can't keep myself from moving to the catchy beat. I feel the same about the Say Hey song. http://youtu.be/ehu3wy4WkHs

bettyandbob
I dislike it less since we've used it in taekwondo and kickboxing. It's *excellent* getting motivated for exercise/kicking! I like dancing to this song. It's fun in ds dance class. One of dd's dance teachers taught parents some steps to use with the song and we all had fun. I'm a little surprised that it could be used to hype you up for martial arts. The song actually makes me feel happy; it doesn't make me want to beat/kick a bag hanging from the ceiling. To each his own...

BlsdMama
Could be worse... Could be that song from Frozen. I have sworn to my children I won't buy it, not even if someone asks for the video for a birthday gift.
