Tonia
I've been lurking on the old board since my daughter was born - she's four now, so we are doing a light K4 year. So, it's my first year!
Deece in MN
This is our 8th year. We intend to continue through high school. We are currently experimenting with unschooling for the rest of this year so will see how that goes. I know the WTM and unschooling do not go hand in hand, but I love the WTM boards and am here for my support. Thanks! Deece Oh rats! I just realized that I miscounted. This is our 9th year of hs'ing. I couldn't change my vote in the poll, but it should be 9 years not 8. Silly me :)
Sandy in Indy
Wow! I just realized that I've been hsing for 10 years! Guess time flies when you're having fun????? AngieW in Texas
I started hsing my oldest with SL Basic K (now called Core C) when she was 4.5yo. This is my 11th year to hs. Since my youngest is in 4th grade, I have 8 more years to go after this one.
Janie
OK. So this is my first post on the new boards. And I guess we can't use NT anymore. I don't do change well. Hope this gets easier.
Angela in TN
First full year (oldest ds is 3rd grade) but I did try to homeschool at the beginning of 1st grade and quit after 2 weeks!! What helped me going into this year was not having unrealistic expectations and realizing that "homeschool" is NOT "school at home". So it's been a great year!
angela in ohio
7th school year for me (started counting with K.) Of course, this whole thing is relative. I know a HSer who also says she's been homeschooling for 7 years, but her oldest is 9.
Amy in Orlando
We're half-way through our 8th year. Only 10 more to go.

JennW in SoCal
We started in January of 2000, so we're starting our 9th year?! I was looking back at the journals I kept during those early years, and at the cute work my kids did back then when they were 7 and 4! Now the oldest is learning to drive and the youngest is on the cusp of puberty! Egads time is a flying!
Stephanie in FL
Wow, it is hard to believe that it has been that long. We plan to school the rest of the kids all the through high school as well, so that will give me 18 more years of schooling at home. :)
Amy in NH
I said 8 years because my oldest is in 7th grade and we had to file paperwork for kindergarten when we lived in FL. SO that makes 8 legal years, but really we've been homeschooling since birth, so it's been more like 13 years.

gardenschooler
This year is our 12th year - started formally homeschooling in '96. I thought it couldn't be done, so I did a practice year of kindergarten with my 4 1/2 year old. In case I messed it up, so I could send her to real kindergarten the next year. We never looked back! Sparkle
For the fun of it. Boy, you're on a roll, Siloam ;) We're in our 8th year, and planning to keep on through high school. freethinkermom
Well, I said six, but now that I think about it more like 7 or 8 since my very soon to be 11yo started insisting on reading and math lessons as a toddler. We will definitely go through highschool. Ds10 is already doing highschool work now for most subjects. When we run out of high school work we plan on studying subjects for CLEP exams so he can get in as much college credit as possible before he is old enough to for us to be comfortable letting him move away to school (no universities within driving distance). Ds6 is a little easier to teach so far (in other words, he is willing to go at a pace I can keep up with :) .
TammyinTN
:D Six action packed years for us. Our second daughter graduates this year and our last one will be entering 5th grade this fall. I absolutely love home schooling!
RoughCollie
We have been homeschooling for 7 years. My kids are in 8th grade (triplets) and 7th grade. This year, however, two of the triplets and my DD are attending a parochial school, so I am only homeschooling one 8th grader. Sara Mac
I said 3 years, K was light and we are just starting 3rd grade. There is certainly a lot of experienced mums on these boards. All the better for us newbies to learn from :D
hsmamainva
12 years of homeschooling here!! I started when my oldest dd was of preschool age. I discovered TWTM in 1999, so quite a few years ago!! Things have changed a bit since then ... my oldest is a student at the local community college, so she's only hs'ing part-time, and my youngest is in Kindergarten at the local public school (she has autism and they have a wonderful special education program there!) So it's mostly just the two boys..but transitions are good! :)
Linda (Australia)
11 years here: how the time flies! Our guys are now in: 9th grade 8th grade 7th grade 6th grade 4th grade 2nd grade 1st grade, and my baby is in grade K! I 'think' it may be a rather busy year. :)
Lizzie in Ma
We began after my eldest went to PS K. It was a nightmare and my pastor's wife told me if she could home school then I certainly could and bless her, here we are in our 6th year. I have never looked back and am in love with the home school journey.

JudoMom
Four official years, since my oldest is in 3rd. I find this question hard to answer, though, since we've homeschooled from birth :).
cbollin
I guess my answer should have been homeschooling since oldest was born. But in terms of teaching academics....Been officially homeschooling since 1999 or 2000 and still alive to talk about it ;)
