whitestavern
DD13 needs winter boots, so we'll be buying her some for Christmas. Can I get a quick assessment of these: ETA I put 2 add'l selections further down in the thread. http://www.amazon.com/Columbia-Womens-Minx-Snow-Black/dp/B006A1G3MW/ref=sr_1_6?s=shoes&ie=UTF8&qid=1386942408&sr=1-6&keywords=waterproof+snow+boots Anyone want to ask their dd's opinions on these boots? Yay or nay? Thanks!! ETA: These are not for everyday/fashion wear...they are for playing in the snow!!! Although she might wear them to go skiing, a friend's house, to the store, etc.
Pippen
My daughter wouldn't.
whitestavern
How about these? http://www.amazon.com/Sorel-Womens-Glacy-Saddle-Fossil/dp/B00AJL9TKC/ref=sr_1_44?s=shoes&ie=UTF8&qid=1386942866&sr=1-44&keywords=waterproof+snow+boots
Luckymama
No to the first (two votes), one yes/one no to the second (the yes was from dd13).

KarenNC
My 13 yo would be most likely to wear option 2 (since she already has something similar).
saraha
My 12 yo old said Yes to 1, 3 No to 2. If it helps, my 12 yo is a girly girl who loves clothes.
Ottakee
My girls would wear any of the 3. Maybe #1 would be the favorite. Then again here we go for WARM, not high fashion. In fact their current winter boots are Bog boots---dual purpose for the barn as well.
J-rap
My daughters are older, but they'd probably choose #3. They've had Keen boots (though a different style) and they keep their feet really warm and are cute. Plus, they're kind of in-between the more rugged pair and the more frilly-looking pair. My youngest (18) just got a new pair of boots before going to Sweden this fall and this is the style she got: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B006Y7FLN4/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=
goldberry
DD14, style diva of family and friends, voted #1. (Of course she thinks you should get a color though!) Just thinking though, is your kid more "stand out" or more "blend in but still stylish"? Mine is definely more "stand out".
MomOfOneFunOne
AMDG I asked my 14 year old and she said: yes to the first one you posted Only to feed the chickens to the second Not as much as the first to the third
Hikin' Mama
My 16 yodd said no to all three. She has fake Uggs and said that is what most teenage girls wear.
gardenmom5
no to 1 & 2. probably to #3. my girls attended school for four years in upstate NY and wore these. steger mukluks traditional @ mukluks.com. (for some reason, I can't even paste a URL.) my son asked for a pair too. after four years they still are going strong.
whitestavern
My 16 yodd said no to all three. She has fake Uggs and said that is what most teenage girls wear. I should've have been clear that she needs snow boots for playing outside. She has "fashion-y" type boots for just wearing around.

Tap
DD15...no to all 3. She is in a private school high school so she makes more of her decisions based on current trends and what her peers are wearing.

Cera
This is the style all of the teens around here wear - http://www.amazon.com/Sorel-Womens-Arctic-NL1540-Black/dp/B001OTYXCM/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1386950068&sr=8-2&keywords=sorel
Karen in CO
Nope - she would not. She would wear something more like this http://www.amazon.com/Columbia-Sportswear-Ice-Maiden-Weather/dp/B004LP2REW/ref=pd_sbs_shoe_2 or this http://www.amazon.com/Kamik-NK2004-Womens-Brooklyn-Boot/dp/B0036FSZ4Y/ref=pd_sbs_shoe_3 but she really wants taller boots. My dd likes the hunger games books/movies - so I am supposed think of what Katniss would wear or what Veronica Mars would wear - those are her fashion inspirations. Stacia
My dd has a pair similar to the style jjhat7 posted. Dd's boots are actually a pair of men's North Face boots, black & charcoal grey color, & she loves them -- wears them almost every day (& we rarely have snow; she just doesn't like cold weather). amo_mea_filiis.
My dd (12) would love the first and third. The second would be too "boring" for her.
Guest submarines
My inner tween would wear #1  My inner tween would love any of them! Will she wear them with snow pants, or regular jeans, or tights? I think the OP should ask her own DD. There's nothing worse than receiving an article of clothing as a gift, while you are set on something quite similar, and in the same price range. I'd also let her try them on and choose by how they fit, especially as you are choosing a play, comfy boot for her. Unless she's very easy going and returns are easy, I don't think surprising with boots is a fun idea.
AvasMom
My 15 yr old dd said 1 and 3 but only for playing in the snow. She doesn't like #2 at all.
Chris in VA
Probably to all, but she doesn't like fur on her snow boots because it gets all icy and wet.

AimeeM
Number 1 is nice and something I could see my pre-teen wearing (dd12). She's at school right now, so I can't ask her, but it looks like something she'd point out.
Ottakee
These might not go over well with your dd but around here, many of the girls are wearing Bog boots http://www.bogsfootwear.com/shop/styles/womensShoes/womensAgriculture/page0.html THey are WARM and waterproof and last forever. Then again we are rural and value warm and dry feet over high fashion.
