1GirlTwinBoys
:001_smile: We ended up getting an almost 5 month old male from another breeder. He's black with some tan and full German bred. What a cutie! Edited September 7, 2012 by 1GirlTwinBoys

West Coast Mom
When I get my Shepherd, I'm naming him Diesel. I had two when I was younger named Kira and Target (not after the store). I also like Max, but it is pretty common.

OnTheBrink
Muffin. (I knew someone who had a male GS names Muffin. I do believe it was his daughters who gave the dog his name, though.)
hsmamainva
Our first dog was a German shepherd named Jake. He was our first baby and lived with our family for 14 very, very happy years! Enjoy your new puppy! :)
Georgiana Daniels
CaesarSpike Gunther Heinrick Stein LOL, I was going to say Gunther too, based on being a German shepherd! Brutus and Sparticus get my vote :D
IsabelC
Isn't it a bit cliched for big strong dogs to have big strong dog names? If we ever get a dog, it will probably end up with one of our baby names shortlist that we didn't use for the kids. But I'd love to have a big fierce looking shepherd called Mitzi and a tiny fluffball called Sabre, just to discombobulate people :D
gingersmom
I have had a Piper and an Ernie. My next shepherd is going to be named Fabio.:001_smile:
1GirlTwinBoys
Forgot to mention that the name the breeder gave him is CASH.:) He does recognize that name but the breeder said we could still change it. Two names that I like are: Zeller Griffin
MissKNG
Someday we are going to own a black and tan AKC male and his name will be "Netzu" (pronounce net-zoo). I lived in Israel for a few months and this was the nickname of a friend there and I just like it for some reason!
Jann in TX
We have had 6 great German Shepherds... We do have a 'theme'-- all of our Shepherds have Star Trek names! Males: Sisko Jordi Data Trip (aka Charles Tucker III) Females: Kira Tasha While our current Shepherds are solid white (Trip and Tasha) our next (will be a few years) will hopefully be a black and tan. The name we've already picked out: Riker
Carrie12345
My favorite male GSD was Blaze. My GSD-mix is Radar (or Ray Ray, lol.)

Brigitte
Forgot to mention that the name the breeder gave him is CASH.:) He does recognize that name but the breeder said we could still change it. In that case, I would go with Cassius. Otherwise, I would pick something German: Johann Bach Hans Conrad Fritz Franz Gunther Gustav Wolfgang (call him Wolfie) Ludwig Klaus Ralf
TXMomof4
Oskar - my brother has a dog named Oskar. He got him from a German breeder. My SIL insists on calling him os_CAR. It's pretty funny - he knows his name though!
jujsky
Ours is Logan. His name from the breeder was X-man (he was from the X litter -- not a lot she could do with that!) so we stuck with the X-man theme. If he had been a long-coat, he would have been Wolverine, but since he wasn't, he was Logan. We also considered Sawyer, after my favorite heartthrob on LOST. Have fun with your new puppy! whitestavern
My childhood German shepherd was named Liebchen (pronounced leeb-shen), which loosely translated means good friend (at least that's what I was told).
kolamum
Oh come on, you've forgotten RinTinTin. ;) I read a book about a German Shepherd once named Riff Remember. There's a GS on the Cats & Dog's 2, but his name escapes me. Sad because my children were just telling me his name earlier today.

Happy
My next GSD male will be Bravo. I also like Ace. Had one named Hero once upon a time. Fine dog, that one. What's wrong with Cash? I like it. I knew a gal who had two GSD males--one was Dime and the other Nickel. They were smart, strong, and friendly. I think German names for GSDs are overdone. :tongue_smilie:
