Brilliant
I realized yesterday that I have no idea who is in the Super Bowl. Nor do I care. I am thinking of planning an un-Super Bowl party but I'm not sure which of my friends to invite...I'm sorry, but I wouldn't even want to turn on the TV for a minute to find out the score! MyBlueLobsters
But guys!!! It's FOOTBALL!!!! I'm already mourning the loss of this season being almost over. (and my team didn't even make it!) Looking forward to next season!
Jayne J
Oh sure! That would be the Yankees and the Bulls, right? :D (I am from PA, and so by law I must know that the Steelers are playing. But I don't give a darn.)
Old Dominion Heather
I not only know, it is the topic of in-depth conversation at my house. Potential game strategies, whether Polumalu really deserved defensive player of the year or should it have gone to Matthews... all this and more. And WHAT will we watch on Sunday afternoons until it is football season again?
Melinda in VT
I'm not sure. I think the Green Bay Packers are playing. If I'm right, that's one team. If I'm wrong, then no, I have no clue. :D
Dobela
Yes, of course we do! My dh is a huge football fan and his favorite team (Steelers) has again made it to the Super Bowl. Ds10 is now hooked on football and thinks it is to be a regular discussion (even if I don't have a real clue).

Giraffe
Being in Dallas, I can't help but know. The news is 100% Super Bowl coverage. Apparently there is NOTHING else going on in the city, metroplex, state, nation, or world. Oh, except that we had an ice storm and the two sand trucks in the entire metro area escorted the teams to media day at Cowboys Stadium yesterday. I'm only kidding about there being two sand trucks here. I hope. :001_huh:
WTMCassandra
Barely. I chose other. I only sort of know because other people are talking about it.
Hannah C.
I only know who's playing in the Super Bowl because I live in the DFW metroplex, and the only newsworthy things in the world are the Super Bowl and the ice. Otherwise I would have no idea :001_smile:

Dawn in OH
Honestly, I thought the Superbowl was 2 weekends ago. All the grocery store ads had a football theme and massive junk food and soda sales. The neighbors two doors down were hooting and hollering like money was falling from the sky. I chose "other". Tap
Nope, and the only reason I even know what weekend it is on, is that it affects my husband's job. Otherwise, it could just be any other Sunday to me.

posybuddy
Heck yes! It was a huge blow to have our team eliminated early from the playoffs, but we are Packer lovers anyhow, so we are looking forward to a great game. (And party. And commercials. LOVE the Superbowl!) tex-mex
With my boys, we live and breathe ESPN or FOX Sports. LOL Yes, indeedy, we know who is playing. Add to that we live in Dallas and the whole DFW area is freaking out over the ice storm ruining incoming Super Bowl tourism (today's report has a 4 hour delay with incoming arrival flights)... yep, we're aware of which teams are playing. I hear one loyal cheesehead is driving her truck from WI to TX in the midst of this weather. Yoikes. :001_huh:

FaithManor
No, to us the Super Bowl is the extra large bowl of popcorn that ds nearly 14 makes and then attempts to competely hog. Faith
Jenny in Florida
Not a clue. And I'm not even sure when it's on. I'm one of those people who dislikes sports even more when they get in the way of things I might actually want to do or watch. So, I should probably look up the date and time in order to be prepared with something to do. Sigh. I'll just be glad when it's over. ETA: I checked. It's this Sunday. Fortunately, my son has a matinee that afternoon. So, we'll be busy. Then we'll probably watch a movie. MrsBasil
Oh yes! My team is the Bears and my DH's team is the Packers. :glare: It's a friendly rivalry though, so we'll all be cheering the Pack on. They're going to be playing the Steelers who I know very little about. Basically terrible towels, Polamalu, and Roethlisberger.
Brigitte
I am wondering if there is a way to watch it when you don't have cable and the only channels you get through the air are ABC and NBC. Suggestions anyone???
WistfulRidge
I know, but the knowledge isn't voluntary. It exists simply because my DH loves football and insists on having a few friends over every year for dinner and games while watching "The Game" (mainly, I think, to have someone in the house besides him that at least understands football and/or likes it). Jen in PA
Well, I live near Pittsburgh and I used to live near Green Bay, so yeah, I know. :D But football's not my sport, so I am a whole lot less excited than everyone around me at the moment. happypamama
I do not have sports fans in my house, including DH. I like it that way. Medieval Mom
Living just 30 minutes from Lambeau Field....you BET I know who's in it. :D Yep. We live just 10 min. from Lambeau Field. I know!We live about 30 minutes from the stadium and ALL that has been on the news the past week has been football, football, football. I turned on the television at lunch to see if I could find out what the weather is suppose to do over the next few days (more snow?! :glare:) and Troy Aikman was on telling all of us "natives" to be friendly to our out-of-state visitors. :tongue_smilie:

chiguirre
Well, I'm from the town with the Super Bowl team (hum it to a polka) so, yeah, I know who's playing this year and I'll definitely be watching dressed head to toe in black and gold. ChandlerMom
I chose "other" because I can't remember the teams' names, but know they last met up 2 years ago and that they both come from states that border Canada -- my memory works in weird ways. Do I get partial credit? :D I only know it's THIS Sunday because we got an invite to a party. ETA: Oh, and both uniforms have gold. So I'm going to go out on a limb and say the team wearing gold will win! :D Edited February 2, 2011 by ChandlerMom

KrissiK
I do. I like football, although I'm not rabid about it. I don't have "a team" or anything. I just like watching what's on and I usually cheer for one of the two teams, whoever's playing. I think I'll cheer for Green Bay in the Superbowl, simply because I have a dear friend who lives in Wisconsin.
