Guest Barb B
So - this is my first poll! With the talk of pantyhose on some threads I'd thought I'd ask - do wear them: yes, no , sometimes? Me - I feel kind of naked without them - which is very silly I know. Its just - I grew up with them and old habits die hard! Barb
Old Dominion Heather
No. I don't own any pantyhose. I do have many many pairs of wool tights, patterned tights, cable-knit tights. I wear those all winter.

Ellie
ABSOLUTELY!! Unless I am dressed informally and wearing strappy sandals, I'm wearing hose. No bare legs for me. Hose finishes the outfit. And FTR, I wear a full slip, as well. :D

thescrappyhomeschooler
I try to avoid them at all costs. But I also try to avoid wearing skirts and dresses at all costs. :tongue_smilie: I do live in a cold and snowy place in the winter, so if there is no way I can avoid wearing a skirt or dress, I will wear tights (the US, not UK version) or leggings. Liza Lee
I voted maybe. I had not worn them in years and years, but I did buy a pair to wear when I have to go to court. My XH has a high conflict personality, so trips back to court are a regular occurrence.

JFSinIL
OK, I voted Yes but only because on the rare occasions when I can't get by with nice slacks I do wear pantyhose - I have fat, veiny, awful legs and do not want to inflict the sight of them on humankind ;) My dd, now - ages almost 18 and 16 - NEVER wear pantyhose - BUT they have the legs to go "natural" :glare: . No one they know wears them, either. And they spend most of the time in shorts or skirts (and the occasional artistically ripped jeans) Just wait, girls. Age will catch up with you! kalanamak
I voted no. I wear below the knee dresses, and if it is formal at all, I'll wear knee high black No Nonsense stockings. If I'm at work, I'll wear those (in case my dress pops up a bit) and black anklets OVER them to make my shoes more comfortable. If I shaved my legs, I might skip the knee highs at work, but it is odd to see leg hair (even bright orange leg hair) on men or women at work... except on the patients. jenangelcat
No, not since I was little. I've always hated them and I still don't get the point of them. I have super pale white legs and they look fine with no hose. The only people I know that wear hose are people over 50 or anywhere that sticks to a vintage aesthetic. Mom-ninja.
No. They're not really "in" anymore, which is fine with me because I find them terribly uncomfortable. I wear tights or bare legs. Some fashion rumors are that hose will soon make a come back because Kate (as in Prince William's wife) wears hose. So, there's speculation that the hose trend will be fashionable again. That said, the First Lady (of the US) does not wear hose. Since I'm living in America I chose to follow her lead. :D
Mimm
No no no. SailorMom
Depends on the dress and time of year. For example, in a full-length formal on our cruise ship - I wore them - but that is because I can't stand wearing dress shoes without them on (uncomfortable). However, I hardly ever wear them here in FL, and usually am wearing sundresses.
AK_Mom4
Nope. Though I did wear a pair of black hose a couple of years ago to a formal dinner with my black dress. m0mmaBuck
No. One of the benefits of living in the Pacific NW is the fact that no one here seems to know or care what is fashionable. People just wear whatever they like. Usually in layers. Multiple, conflicting layers involving at least one of every item of clothing that they own. Socks with sandals. Hiking boots with skirts. Long sleeves under short sleeves and always with a vest. And a hat. Preferably a big ratty-looking one that looks like you dug it out of the couch cushions. LibraryLover
Can Kate Middleton Bring Back Pantyhose? Hose or no hose, she's a beauty, no getting around that. Personally, I'm thinking some might not mind seeing her affect Walmart & Target shoppers just a bit. I imagine there are those who would rather see folks in cute little hats and matching skirts instead of PJ bottoms and tube tops. :) Maybe she will bring back the girdle. Or better yet, corsets. :) But you know why that won't happen? It won't happen because of excellent cosmetic surgeons, lipo, and tummy tucks. If Kate were to birth full term twins, via a c-section say, she would have her personal trainer as well as a fabulous Surgeon to the Stars on hand to fix that right up. :) Wealthy women don't fool around, at least the younger ones don't. :) Edited October 9, 2011 by LibraryLover

Alisa in Florida
I work in an office building in Orlando and have noticed that most of the women I see do not wear pantyhose with dresses or skirts. With business suits, on the other hand, most women of all ages seem to wear hose - summer or winter. This is what I do myself, except that in winter (or what passes for winter here) I will wear pantyhose with dresses, otherwise I get cold.
