    • ....a slang word for carnal relations ('nookie')

    • ....other (including, 'Laura, you're very strange')

I had assorted reactions back-to-back. Thought of "nuke" (because technology was killing books). Thought it a condensed attempt to say "Not a book". Thought of the Three Stooges and "Nyuck, Nyuck!" Thought of being packed off into a corner with reading matter as a punishment. . . . Essentially thought it easy to remember, but meaningless. Actually, with some knowledge of marketing research, I was curious what on earth the focus groups made of the product title!

when I was growing up - we had a breakfast nook. My grandmother had a breakfast nook. My great-aunt had a breakfast nook. (my dh's aunt had a breakfast nook) I wouldn't wanted to have read a book there - it wouldn't have been that comfortable as it is not conducive to curling up.

I first thought of a breakfast nook. But then remembered the Limp Bizkit song "I did it all for the nookie." I'm pretty sure they weren't doing it (whatever 'it' was) for a place to eat breakfast, if you know what I mean, nyuck, nyuck, nyuck.

Sorry. Couldn't resist adding the nyucks.
