Corraleno
It's because we're too lazy to type "mathematically inclined." :iagree: Just like we use "arty" or "artsy" as a short form of "artistically inclined." I don't hear people say "Englishy" or "Sciencey". Odd. I've seen/heard people use "sciencey" (including me). I think people don't use Englishy because it doesn't imply "good at English" as much as it implies "from or about England." But maybe that's because my DH is Englishy. Jackie Edited September 22, 2010 by Corraleno
iona
how about mathletic? i don't like "tweak" or when people "run screaming from textbooks", but the fact that i generally don't capitalize my "i's" and tend to over quote probably irks a number of people. PLEASE??? :banghead: I'm curious why this term bothers you. Do you find artsy or crafty offensive too? I mean this in good humor. Paintedlady
I'm curious why this term bothers you. Do you find artsy or crafty offensive too? I'm not sure exactly why it bothers me. I guess just seeing it so often makes it more annoying. Crafty and artsy don't bother me but I don't see those very often I guess. Just call me Aunty Mathy (anti-mathy).

Rosie_0801
Wait! What context are you thinking of "meaty" being used in? Meaty ribs? or a meaty science program? Actually I was thinking of miso paste. I have food on the brain, you see. I wouldn't dream of talking about umami science programs, and umami ribs would just be silly. What else would they be? Never mind me... Rosie
