chocolate-chip chooky
My 10yr old is looking for a movie to watch and wants a tear-jerker. Any ideas? Bonus points if it's on Australian Netflix :001_smile:

trulycrabby
If he were older, I would suggest War Horse, but it is very likely much too graphic for a ten year-old. How about Hoosiers? http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0091217/ Edited January 14, 2017 by trulycrabby

kewb
I have never recovered from Old Yeller. Tearing up just thinking about it. Snoopy Come Home (OK. This one is a TV special but still makes me cry)

And yup...Snoopy come Home was traumatic for me too.

AnnE-girl
Toy Story 3 turned me into a weepy mess. My oldest (maybe 7 at the time?) cried almost as much as I did. Good Boy has some sad parts but ends up happy. We had to convince our kids to just watch until the end because they were so sad they wanted to turn it off.

RegGuheert
The Iron Giant--pretty sure I cried in that one, too. That's an awesome, largely unknown, movie! Highly recommended.Life is Beautiful-- I'd let a 10 year old see it, but that's just me.Another awesome movie. I'm not sure I would ever show this to any shildren other than my own. What I did with my children when they were little was I allowed them to watch up until the transition scene at the entrance to the flower shop. Later they could see the entire movie.
