HRAAB
I would choose yard work or gardening over shoveling snow any day. I detest winter.
fairfarmhand
I hate winter. So I'd rather mow grass.
SparklyUnicorn
Shoveling hands down. We don't have much to mow though. It can be done in under 10 minutes. But shoveling can take a lot longer than that. I don't mow the lawn until summer. It's too hard on my allergies at the moment. I will say though that I hate gardening. I'd rather shovel than garden. KidsHappen
While shoveling is harder than mowing, we have a huge yard and only a small sidewalk and driveway. Also I have terrible allergies so mowing always makes me miserable. So for me I would rather shovel than mow.
MrsMommy
I'd rather shovel. At least playing in the snow is fun...you can't really play in grass clippings. ;)
PeacefulChaos
Snow is worse. So so so so so so so so so so so so SO much worse. :P DH has to stay at work if it snows, helping shovel. While that makes for a lot of hours and a nice paycheck, it's not worth it because shoveling SUCKS. We don't have to do any driveway shoveling but I really don't care. I hate snow. With a passion. I hate cold weather. YUCK. :ack2: I'm so happy warm weather is here. I'll take freshly mowed grass, green trees, and warmth and sunshine ANY day over the hell that I call winter. :D
FriedClams
I grew up in Boston. I now live in the Deep South. I loathe show. I hate shoveling. I only dislike mowing when it's over 90.
momto10blessings
We don't get very much snow, so for us it would be yard work vs. cutting/stacking firewood. I think I prefer the yard work, but it's still early in the season. Ask me again in August!
sbgrace
We've got a huge yard and a push mower. There is just a bit of drive to shovel, and the mail delivers to the road, so I prefer shoveling here. It was different in our old home. I did make sure I have far less landscaping/beds to weed in this home though. I detest pulling weeds. SebastianCat
{...ducking...} I've never shoveled snow, so I have no idea what it's like. But my thin Florida blood would probably hate it more than mowing. I'll take 90 degrees with 90 percent humidity from April to November.
PrincessMommy
there's more lawn than driveway and sidewalk.. I vote hating mowing the lawn more. Plus the mowing season lasts longer than the snowy weather season here where I live.
Loowit
We rarely get any and we never shovel what we get. I don't mow or weed or garden. I have allergies and they have gotten worse over the years, so even with meds I would be miserable.
sunflowerlady
Never shoveled snow. I am a FL native. Dh usually mows the lawn, but I don't mind doing it sometimes. Dealing with snow sounds like a real pain, so I vote that I hate it more. Or would hate it.
flyingaway
I adore snow, so shoveling wins hands down. I don't like grass and would love to turn our lawn into a zen garden.
Annie G
Ugh. Yard work is way worse. We get a lot of snow but we don't spend nearly the time shoveling as we do mowing. Plus there is weedwacking, edging, maintaining the hosta beds, etc. Nope. Give me shoveling.
The Girls' Mom
I would rather mow any day. Not a fan of that frozen white plague. I'd rather do just about anything than have to work out in the freezing cold.ETA: we've lived in MN (brr!) and in the south...and currently have 3 acres to mow/weed/maintain. Still would rather deal with the green stuff.
Sarah CB
Do you hate shoveling/snow blowing snow or mowing lawn (and general lawncare such as pulling weeds that grow back as soon as I pick them!) Can you guess I just mowed lawn for the first time this season? Is it close to winter yet? I moved from a property that was 1 acre and required a lot of care. Dh mowed it, but I still had to weed, and prune, and plant things, and pick up walnuts, etc. I strongly disliked working out in the yard. But, I love winter and snow. Now I live somewhere that required a good chunk of hours to clear our (very small) driveway. I learned how to use a snowblower and I shovelled a lot. I didn't mind a bit. My lovely family and friends would tell me about how their flowers were coming up and I was not jealous because I knew I'd rather be shovelling snow than weeding. The snow is almost all gone and we're starting to see a tiny bit of green in our grass. Thankfully, we have a tiny little yard and it's all grass - no flower beds, no weeding! TammyinTN
Honestly...I love them both. It's killing me not to mow at our new house..we have lawn service.
redsquirrel
I would rather shovel snow, and I have more snow than yard, lol. But OTOH, I am terribly allergic to grass and I cannot mow the lawn so I don't have to, lol. So, I prefer to shovel snow but I have very little experience with yard work. I find show shoveling to be meditative. Yard work makes me wheeze and break out in terrible hives.

Butter
Shoveling snow. Which is why I live in south Texas.
I talk to the trees
I'll shovel snow any day rather than mow. Snow doesn't make me sneeze or wheeze.
Suzanne in ABQ
I would much rather shovel snow. We moved to the mountains for many reasons, but having a zero maintenance yard is totally worth dealing with an occasional beautiful snowstorm. Cera
I like shoveling snow. I dislike pushing a lawn mower through the swarms of bugs in my yard in oppressively hot and humid conditions.
clementine
Shoveling is much worse - its hard & heavy & cold & wet. At least when I mow the lawn, the lawn mower moves forward on it's own. I just have to squeeze the 'go thingy' and walk behind it. As long as I don't have to bag the clippings....then it's a tie.
MomtoCandJ
Mow grass, we have more driveway than grass :) now raking leaves is a whole different beast, the reason we have so little grass is because we have a lot of oaks and maples around the house/yard. Ausmumof3
I've never had to shovel snow but I actually like mowing the lawn. Our lawn mower doesn't work right now though.
Guest
Neither....that's what I have sons for. For real though....I have bad allergies, so I can't handle the mowing, but the shoveling is much more strenuous. If I had to choose, I would mow.
abacus2
I've never done either. We have no snow to speak of and other people mow. I plan to keep it that way. Right now I have a lawn service, but I would want to move if I would be stuck mowing instead.
Χάων
I can shovel snow without making sure my epi pen is within easy reach. I cannot say the same for mowing. Shoveling snow wins!
Cinder
Count me among those who would rather shovel snow because of allergies. The last time I mowed I was sick for 2 days afterward. I've never gotten sick from shoveling snow. :p
kitten18
It doesn't snow where we live. We used to live in the mid-west. I would much rather shovel than do yard work. I hate being hot!

Can you guess I just mowed lawn for the first time this season? Is it close to winter yet? I love mowing lawn. I'd rather do lawncare than any other task, especially dishes, lol. Unfortunately my kids share my enthusiasm and I don't get to mow. Liz mows with the rider, Tim does the trim, and I get nothing. It's very sad.
