Dawn in OH
At this point in time, I don't see it ever being an option.
Donna T.
Hopefully, by the grace of God, PS will remain a non-option here.
DaffodilDreams
Hello! PS here is not an option for us, but I will always take into account dd's needs. I could see a smaller school system being a possibility, but our current school system is too overcrowded (and it's supposed to be a great school system - ha!). katemary63
Not an option--ever. My dd or bf will finish youngest ds's homeschooling if I'm unable. I wouldn't send my dead dog to ps. (JMO) :iagree:I'll say never! If I died, my older DDs would homeschool DD9. I've made my DH promise me he would never send her to PS if that happened. LND1218
Hi! We also have most unforeseen circumstances as well. In the event there is something we haven't covered, school may be an option - just not public school.

texasmama
Our public school here is terrible. It is not an option. That is the mountain I die on. If life circumstances make it such that homeschooling is not an option, we will need to private school or move to a better school district. We have lived in this house for over 10 years so that would be a dire move.
GrassTiger
That's basically where my heart is. I went through public school and really don't want my daughter to ever have to go through all that. We have more fun and move faster at home anyway. :)

HRAAB
I know better than to say never, but unless things change drastically, my children will remain home. Bottom line: what is best for the family.
Jane Elliot
Hi. Absolutely not an option here. Private school isn't even an option. I think a long time ago it was, but there's a lot of confidence that goes with having graduated older kids from homeschool.
DaisyMay
Lord willing, I don't see public school as ever being an option for us. :D Gayle
misidawnrn
Not even an option here. DS went to public school and they passed him along until it was time for him to drop out!!! My girls will get homeschooled forever

pdalley
:iagree: Not an option here. Not after what we went through with them. Contingency plans are in place for the kids to be hs through high school. And I wouldn't elect to send my 'typical' kids to ps - even if I had typical kids. And I consider what my kids went through in ps as child abuse - thrown across the room - 'restrained', etc.... Nope. DH and I are in total agreement on this. homeschoolally
We don't consider PS an option. We've even factored homeschooling in to our life insurance decisions. :iagree: :001_smile: I am realistic though, that something out of my control could happen and ps might be the only option. It would be a last resort--but I've learned that life can be full of surprises. I will do everything in my power to keep my kids home. nono
Me too. No one in my family prior to me has ever been to public school. Why break a pattern? ;)
Ester Maria
If located in the US of A, public school is not an option in the wildest of dreams as of current situation, nor are the private schools nearby. The only brick and mortar option are several boarding schools, but even that would be a hard choice to make. If located in most of EU, public school is a legitimate option. leighp
Hi! If homeschooling for some reason wasn't an option, we'd go for private school. We have some good options around us.

JoyfulMama
Dh and I have been discussing this, at length. We have agreed that public school is not an option we would consider unless we had no other options. Our alternative to homeschooling is a private school, which was our first choice prior to considering homeschooling.

Guest Katia
Add me to your list. Public school was never an option from the day we started homeschooling over 16 years ago, until the day we graduated our youngest child from our homeschool. Homeschooling was what we were meant to do with our children all the way!
