Charlotte Elizabeth Diana

My SIL had a baby girl on Saturday and named her Charlotte Grace.  I actually suggested Charlotte and our only concern with the name was that it might be the name of the princess.  When our Charlotte was born we knew that the princess was born on the same day but no name was released.  Our Charlotte shares the same birthday and name as the princess so we will be calling her our little princess as well.

What a lovely name.  And, in just 3 names she is named after:

her mother Catherine Elizabeth

her aunt Philippa Charlotte

her paternal grandfather Charles

her paternal grandmother Diana

her maternal grandmother Carole Elizabeth

and of course her great grandmother Elizabeth

... not mention many other royals in the family tree.

That is seriously strategic as well as beautiful!

Perfect! It will be fun to watch this tiny princess as she grows.

When I was little, my father occasionally made audio recordings of us talking. He was trying to tell me about King George III and the American Revolution when I was three and having a bath (oh, Daddy, how I love you!). I had zero interest in anything but his queen. What did she look like, what was her name? Daddy didn't know, so I decided that her name was probably Snow. Whenever I see anything related to Queen Charlotte, that is my first thought.

And when she cries, they can sing "Hush, Hush Sweet Charlotte."

Those of you of a certain age can thank me later for the ear worm.

It annoys me that Charlotte is such a popular name now. DD is named after grandma and when she was born, the name wasn't popular at all. Now, it's almost in the top 20. But I do agree, they've chosen a beautiful name for her!

Younger DD has a beautifully classic, old-fashioned name that isn't even in the top 1000. :)
