MercyA
He is risen and is alive forevermore! "O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ." 1 Corinthians 15:55-57 Happy Easter, everyone!!! DawnM
Woke up singing this song I always sang as a child on Easter: I serve a risen Savior He’s in the world today.I know that He is living, Whatever men may say.I see His hand of mercy; I hear His voice of cheer; And just the time I need Him He’s always near.He lives, He lives, Christ Jesus lives today! He walks with me and talks with me along life’s narrow way.He lives, He lives, salvation to impart! You ask me how I know He lives? He lives within my heart. In all the world around me I see His loving care,And though my heart grows weary, I never will despair;I know that He is leading, Through all the stormy blast; The day of His appearing Will come at last. Rejoice, rejoice, O Christian, Lift up your voice and singEternal hallelujahs To Jesus Christ the King! The Hope of all who seek Him, The Help of all who find,None other is so loving, So good and kind. She had a pretty awful voice, and she always positioned herself on the end of the choir loft pew facing the congregation, so you could hear her above everybody else. I loved hearing her sing, though. Thanks for the memory. :)

kbutton
Yes, DawnM, thanks for posting that hymn. Our wonderful church is very contemporary, but I grew up singing hymns. So many of the older folks that I sang them with have passed on, and that hymn took me straight back to sitting with them and shaking their hands every week. Lots of happy faces on those Easter Sunday mornings. And for those struggling today, prayers for your difficult situation. Our pastor spends time every holiday praying for those who are hurting, and there were so many of those faces this morning as well. Blessings to you if you are in that spot.
