Tree House Academy
This is the first time we are actually taking off and we are doing it because my dh is off. Anyone else?
ZeldaRules
I don't do school when my DH is home. I may read a chapter from the chapter book, but I take holidays off. :) Enjoy your day.
m0mmaBuck
No school here. Haven't even started for the year yet. Planning to start Tues a.m. Or Weds. Or next week. Or..... NOOOO!!! I. MUST. START. TUESDAY!
Country Mouse
Yes.
MamaSheep
We'll be taking Monday off. But I'm planning to be an ogre and make them do a week's worth of work in the next 4 days.
sparrow
Yes, it's a school day for us :001_smile:. Our seasonal business is open, so dh will be working. (We take plenty of other non-holidays off because we school year round :001_smile:)
Jennifer in MI
Sort of. We'll be doing our Sonlight reading. And, my oldest is taking a chemistry class at the local CC and he's got a test on Tuesday. He'll be studying!
Baseball mom
Family in town and we don't get to see them but about once maybe twice a year. So no school for us.
HalonaD
Yes, but math and logic only.
thescrappyhomeschooler
Yes. I probably won't in the future, but I actually forgot that tomorrow was labor day when I planned out the week. We didn't have plans, anyway, and we are going to Niagara Falls during the last week of September, so that will be our time off.
Closeacademy
Labor day week is one of our no school weeks. So we will be off all week. :001_smile:

Nestof3
Yes, we plan to school tomorrow.
nmoira
No, this is a week off, which is rare for us, as we school year-round. The kids have two days of gymnastics camp, we're going to the coast (where we'll probably freeze our butts off), and then there's Not Back to School Day at a local amusement park. Next week is our first full week back.
6packofun
No, mainly because I need the day for planning. Off to a slow, jerky start this year... LOL
Kalypso
No school for us. Dh has the day off and it is my dd birthday.
jenL
Yes, this year we are. We usually take it off because Dh is home; however, my sister flew in Friday to visit, so we took that day off instead. She left today, so tomorrow will be a regular day for us.
stephanier.1765
Absolutely. If we don't take the various Monday holidays off, we have the spare days available to take the whole week of Thanksgiving off.
Mosaicmind
Nope. We are going to the lake.
Dana
We're doing school. Dh is home, but when we do school while he's off, he gets more alone time than he does when we're all off at the same time. :D Of course, tomorrow he'll probably be buying us a new fridge and doing some general home repairs, so not really an off day for him.
jujsky
We're doing school. DH has a bunch of yard-work to do anyway.
NanceXToo
Yes, and it's our first day of school :D
Dmmetler
We'll do at least some, simply because DH likes to sleep late and if we do school, that delays DD waking him up. I'll decide if I count it as an official school day after I see what we accomplish.
holdoll
Yes but only because we'll be off Thursday for Rosh HaShana.
Firestar Academy
we are not doing any official schoolwork b/c dh and my parents are here..... but, they still have monday piano lessons, and I will try to get in another chapter or 2 of Witch of Blackbird Pond.... We are also going to the aquarium on tuesday since that is the first day of public school here..... so back to work on wednesday unless I can find another field trip.... the4Rs
Yep we will have school!!! But a more relaxed pace than typical days...as we are going out to breakfast with family.
gingersmom
We started school last week. We are going to Great Wolf Lodge tomorrow for my sons birthday.
Onceuponatime
My dh is off every Monday, so we never do school on Mondays.
Belacqua
We're having a regular school day. The kid's AoPS class meets tomorrow, so we couldn't have gone anywhere (it's supposed to be rainy and gross, anyway).
Hunter's Moon
I'm doing school tomorrow. I was thinking about taking the day off but we don't really do anything special. My father will be home but he spends his off days watching Military/Survivor Man shows.
PollyOR
Maybe a little catch-up with 8yo. She didn't get to everything Friday.

PollyOR
My father will be home but he spends his off days watching Military/Survivor Man shows. Stephanie, I'm so glad you are here on the boards. You tell it like it is. :D
Elizabeth in WA
We have no school on Monday. Husband is home and completing our move from temporary 2 bedroom apartment to 3 bedroom apartment 50 feet away. I do need to catch up a few things with my 8 year old, but I also need to leave the temporary apartment spotless, and it is not empty yet, so we will see. Mimm
I've decided to work year round in an effort to eliminate the beginning of the year adjustment period where my nine year old has such a hard time with everything. I took our 36 weeks of school and spread them out, giving extra weeks around Christmas and so on. Anyway, all that to say, this is our first vacation week. We're going to do a couple field trips and get some much needed housework done and that's it.
Plucky
Yep, first day of the new school year. Dh is working.
nmoira
I hope the sun shines just for you. :) :D Thanks. I'm a wimp, but the kids are hardy types. As long as there aren't high winds AND rain they'll be OK.... though they'd certainly welcome sun. I know I would. Classical Country Mama
Yep here too--and also starting school for the year (first grade! wahooo! of course, a bit nervous as dd somehow has it in her head first grade means crafts, projects, and file folder games all day....) And as you can clearly see, I am wisely spending my last precious hours of prep time by reading the boards. :D
ma23peas
Taking the day off school..but since son's Chemistry class in on Tuesday, he's got to get some assignments knocked out tomorrow, we'll be doing a LOT of yard work and blowing out the barn readying it for 100 bales of hay! :) So labor day it is! :) Tara
EarleneW
No- just catching up on anything they need to catch up on and DH is off.
Ali in OR
School day here. I'm going to aim for a light day tomorrow and a light day Wednesday, so that the two combined might be a little more than one full day. My special needs kid starts up on Wednesday so we will lose a little time taking her to school and getting her all situated. Then I want to take the younger two out for a pastry to celebrate being home schoolers. Then back home for a late start to our day.
ScoutTN
We are doing school tomorrow b/c we have a field trip all morning Tuesday and I have a morning meeting Wednesday. We are doing a fun Labor Day art project as well as math, handwriting and reading. And making potato salad for the picnic later in the day! Lolly
School day on Monday. We will take off Thursday for going to take driver's license test. And, next Monday and Tuesday for traveling. I don't think we can afford to take off Monday too!:D

lotsofpumpkins
We are doing school tomorrow, because we'll be taking a few days off in a couple of weeks to travel. Plus in 2 months we'll be taking off a few weeks when I have the new baby! So, I figure we ought to keep making progress while we can! JudoMom
We'll be doing about an hour or so. We picked up a bunch of books that were on hold at the library on Friday, and when we got home they wanted to read. They agreed to do history, geography, and spelling tomorrow while dh is home if I would let them go read quietly on their beds. Who was I to argue ? Guest Cindie2dds
Our local school district is having classes, so we will also. Dh is home every day since his office is in the house. It's a normal school day for us. :)
