That’s super exciting! When is she due?

she thinks the beginning of sep.   she suspected when the boys were visiting her between christmas and new years - but she didn't want to test with them in the house.

I was looking up baby afghan patterns during that week.  I found an ADORABLE one with a family of elephants (applique) and balloons. .. . she likes elephants

It's too cute.. . . but no pattern, so I've had to track down similiar elephant and balloon patterns and will figure it out on my own.

1st - what does this mean?

2nd - Congratulations!

It's a challenging hike in Yosemite. Not something most people could do while pregnant, but something that someone might want to check off their bucket list before having babies.

yes - hike in yosemite.   we arranged to camp at the same time so we could all see them.

we got there after they came back down.  https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/california/half-dome-trail

you start in the wee hours - they left camp about 3 or 4 am.   but they were back to camp before sunset.   we went up to glacier point - with good binoculars you can see the people walking around up there.

I figure there will come a day I will buy a nice baby hiking backpack - as she loves to hike.

How exciting!! How is she feeling?

I think she's doing ok - it takes a lot to slow her down - she said she felt some symptoms in dec, but I didn't ask for clarification - too excited about the news.

and, we were both on cell phones, so audio quality.  . there were times I had to guess what was being said.   they called on her dh's cell phone.

Oh that is totally precious! I love elephants anyway, but those are too cute on the neutral field color. I’m sure you can recreate it!

I found the blanket it's based upon - then do whatever you want for the applique.  there are some darling ones on pinterest.

https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/brooklyn-baby-blanket---35-x-35

it's a box stitch pattern, with a wide border.   the "official" pattern, and its border variations is $4 from revelry.
