Our faves in no particular order:

  • SOTW (via Biblioplan)
  • CLP Nature Readers (my boys' top pick)
  • Apologia
  • Math U See
  • Copywork & Narration (inspired by The Charlotte Mason Companion)
  • Notebooking pages (from notebookingpages.com)
  • ETC

Wow! I like seeing this list. I don't feel so non-commital. Now if I could just find a writing and grammar program we were happy with.... :)

I haven't used them for a whole year, but we have completed them. We loved MUS Primer and Alphabet Island Level 1, Living Learning books Level 1. We are doing Living Learning books level 2 right now and we aren't as fond of it as we were level 1. HWT Prek was a hit and we will begin HWT K soon. We have enjoyed reading several of the Zeezok publishing Opal Wheeler's composer biographies. We are almost finished with our first Watch Me Draw book and we really like that and will move on to the next in the series.

For my VSL/bouncy child who took her time learning to read and just wants to get to the logical point of the matter:

Spell to Write and Read--teaching her the phonograms w/pictures I drew but not doing all the spelling work

Story of the World with coloring pages from the Activity Guide

For my learn through stories and old textbooks Victorian spirited child:

Rod and Staff Reading--using all the books but I worked through unit 1 phonics before we picked up the reader, reading workbook and worksheets.

For everyone:

Singapore Math

The math gnome stories from this site to introduce new topics and ideas for working with manipulatives--http://ebeth.typepad.com/serendipity/gnomes_and_gnumbers_a_mathematical_tale/
