Ginevra
Amuse me. I have no tattoos, but I was thinking if I did just pull a mid-life-crisis and go get one, I would want something small that references HP, though not too obviously. Maybe a stylized Pheonix and some quote. What would you think was cool?

Jen in NY
Some of my favorite passages in the books come from Dumbledore - alas, some are very long. Like this: “I say to you all, once again -- in the light of Lord Voldemort's return, we are only as strong as we are united, as weak as we are divided. Lord Voldemort's gift for spreading discord and enmity is very great. We can fight it only by showing an equally strong bond of friendship and trust. Differences of habit and language are nothing at all if our aims are identical and our hearts are open.†But these two I might think about tattooing: “Happiness can be found, even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.†“It is our choices, Harry, that show what we truly are far more than our abilities.†

Tita Gidge
I've never read or seen HP, but I love seeing midlife crisis tattoos! I'm shopping for my midlife crisis car. I wanted something that only seated one, but all that gave me was a UPS van. I'm going to have to settle for something that seats two. And the passenger seat will be reserved for my purse. Or my fast food lunch. Whatever you do, though, don't settle for a tattoo. I've watched a lot of Inkmasters and that never goes over well!

Daria
Shave your head and have Voldemort's face tattooed on the back, Professor Quirrell-style. I advise you do this after you are well established in your career, as it can make job interviews awkward. (This is the same advice I gave my 17 year who was exploring the idea of surgery to make his ears look like those of an elf).

Well, to each their own. It kinda looked like a blob and I wouldn't want a dementor on myself. I personally don't like the three hallows symbol much. I don't find it very aesthetically appealing.

Lizzie in Ma
I love the idea of one, but I just can't commit. I have always thought either the White Tree of Gondor, the Lantern Waste light post or something relating to the Marauders Map. So I often use a sharpie and just draw what amuses me that day. ;)
Guest
like this but smaller? Yes, I like that one a lot. That is also the probable location; ideal in that it is easily covered when appropriateness dictates, but easily revealed if desired. But smaller, yeah.
