Xuzi
She's going to take me down if I don't buy her MP3 lectures. I can see the threat in her eyes. Seriously though, sounds like a deal I need to check out.
Chris in VA
It's a pretty strong image of her, isn't it?! ("Well? What're ya waitin' for?") lol I don't even homeschool anymore, but I want to buy them because I am so curious.
Tiberia
Is that HERSELF? I just figured it was a clip art model. That's a compliment, in case anyone is wondering. (If it is SWB, she could have a second career in stock photos.) :leaving:
Susan in TN
Her eyes follow you no matter where you move. (I think she suspects the truth...I haven't checked ds's English grammar work in 2 weeks!) I think she's also asking me if it is really necessary to be so snarky in my comments. Perhaps I should rethink my response?
ErinE
Yes, buy them. I have all of them, but the writing ones are my favorite. Her advice is so helpful and freeing. I listen to all of her lectures when planning for the next school year. I even listen to the high school ones. I like to keep the endgame in mind. ErinE
LOL I don't see it because I have ad blocker. BUT someone pointed it out so I opened another browser without ad blocker to look at it. It kinda cracks me up. The picture is not flattering. She is way more attractive than that picture! Sorry...just being brutally honest here. It's her school marm look. Starr
I like SWB staring at me because she reassures me that we can make it through another day!

Mom in High Heels
It's her school marm look. "Quit wasting time on the Board. You should be teaching Latin right now." LOL! I thought that too. Still, if she didn't want us on the boards, she shouldn't have started them! I like wasting time on WTM! Ack! She's on the top and twice on the bottom! She looks like she's gonna bust my kneecaps if I don't get to work. Yeah, 3 ads on one page is a bit much. It's like she's following me! ErinE
I feel like she knows we skipped school today.Oooooh. Now the look is the Stare of Shame. Tsk, tsk. Multi-purpose, SWB's side-eye.

WTMCassandra
I think she's saying, "Y'all play nice on my site, now." And perhaps also, "Get back in there and grade that Latin homework!" But look carefully and you will see that she is also secretly amused at the same time. I actually like the picture--it shows a lot of her cool personality. BearWallowSchool
Am I the only one that thought it was an advertisement for a new lecture called "Get Inspired!". I went to the site looking for it and couldn't find it. When I finally figured it out, I felt stupid!
Ipsey
My gut reaction to it is that the posture strikes me as somewhat aggressive and belittling. I don't think for a second that's how she means it, though. Of course, I'm sure someone would complain whatever it looked like. This "whatever" is my turn. :D
WTMCassandra
Oh no, definitely not aggressive and belittling. That's not her at all. Seriously. Sorry it looked that way : (.

PrincessMommy
she's at the top AND the bottom of the page.... I.can't.get.away.... She looks like she's going to ask me why I'm here wasting my time online and not doing school, like I should, with my children (and I don't even hs anymore). No, I'd say it isn't a flattering photo of her. Sorry Susan.

prairiewindmomma
Apparently her ad is effective. :) We broke the checkout on her website. Susan Wise Bauer
I would like to point out that I don't look NEARLY as creepy as Jimmy Wales when he's raising funds for Wikipedia. Not NEARLY. SWB p.s. The duplicated ads at the bottom are a bit much, I know--that's a glitch that's causing them to pop up too many times. John's going to be working on it shortly. p.p.s. He's working on the store problem now...

I loved her video retrospective, talking about her homeschooling experience. I would really, really love a MP3 download on the theme (hint, hint). Also, for the working parents, balancing the demands between school, work, and family and staying sane while doing so.
