UmMusa
I'm sorry for your family's loss. My baby died in utero at 21 weeks. I had a vaginal delivery, though. I was surprised you said she'll have a D&C. Take your time to grieve.

kalphs
There has been so much sad news on this board lately, and this evening my daughter, 31, called -- she and her dh were expecting a baby boy -- she went for a routine visit today and the baby had died in utero. She and her dh had brought her two little girls to the visit so the girls could see the baby and hear the heartbeat, and there was no heartbeat. I feel so badly for all of them -- she will have a D&C on Friday. The OB suspects (and I was unable to understand my dd b/c she was so upset) that she may have contracted Parvo (she is a high school teacher) and they will know more after the D&C. My sister (who is an OB) is unavailable tonight so I won't be able to speak with her till tomorrow. Prayers, good thoughts, please, for Stacey and Mario -- Thanks so much. ETA: Looked up what I thought Stacey was saying and it is called 'hydropsy.' :grouphug: and Prayers for your family.
Heather in WI
We lost a little boy at 22 weeks in 2003 due to hydrops fetalis. :(:grouphug: I'm so sorry for your daughter's loss. It was so devastating for us, and my heart aches for her. I'm a little surprised about the D& C. Like PP, I also had an induced vaginal delivery. The baby is pretty developed at that stage. Benjamin, our son, was 11 inches long and 2.4 pounds. A book that really helped me deal with his death was Safe in the Arms of God: Truth from Heaven About the Death of a Child by John MacArthur. I don't know your daughter's beliefs, but I recommend it if she is a Christian.
