  1. Then don't respond. Don't respond. Don't respond. I know someone who, years ago, would have a drink with a co-worker after working hours to explain to him that they couldn't possibly have a personal relationship and that he needed to stop asking her to do things outside of the office. :::Insert huge eyeroll::: Don't be that person.
  2. That's been announced? ETA: I see that it has. Unbelievable.
  3. I watched long enough this morning to see his anger surface, and I realized the man doesn't think he's ever done anything wrong. That came across pretty clearly.
  4. Wow, her boss's wife? That would change things for me. I would call her out. "You know, you ask me about this every year. Let's go talk to DH since it seems to be something that bothers you." And then I would bring my husband to her and ask her to repeat her questions "in hopes that we can get to the bottom of why this is bothering you so much." Your mom doesn't have to endure that from her husband's employee. Once or twice I might let it pass, but year after year? No way. She needs to stop. ETA: And I say this as the wife of a man who supervises a lot of people. I wouldn't put up with that from one of his employees for a second.
  5. Our children use(d) our plan. We pay until they finish high school. Once they finish college, they get their own plan.

  11. Oh, Linda. I am so very sorry. So very sorry.
  12. I was over 50 when I used CT5K to help me run regularly for the first time in my life. I made it to the 9th week and was able to run for 30 minutes straight, but it took me many weeks beyond 9. I worked day by day and added in extra time whenever I needed it. Early on my Achilles was injured, so I had to lay off for two or three weeks for that to heal. The injury was due to me starting the program running in shoes that I had had for YEARS. I highly recommend getting a good pair of running shoes before you start. You can do it!!
  13. We went to Kauai last year for our 25th. Loved everything about it! We stayed in Princeville, and Tunnels was our favorite beach. Lots of hiking available as well as all the water stuff. Don't miss Waimea Canyon!
  14. Praise God! What a wonderful update.

  20. I served on a jury earlier this month. It was the first time I'd ever been called to be in a jury pool, and I was chosen. It was a civil case, and we needed a verdict of 9-3 either way. We were unanimous. Several years ago I was called as a witness in a divorce proceeding and was asked one or two questions by the judge.
  21. I know 1 or 2 women who seem to be obsessed with presenting their lives as comparable to those you see in magazines. Everything perfect, all the time. But when you carry on a conversation with them they are about 1/4 inch deep. They talk about household decor, clothes, shoes, trips, etc. I've often wondered what their lives would look like if they would just be themselves. It's like they don't think they are enough, so they have to mimic what pretend perfection looks like. But they present themselves as that is who they really are. Is that what you're talking about?
