Yes......this is true. Without going into detail, the photographer who came for my grandson had been contacted by the perinatologist's nurse so she was aware that on a particular day, she might be needed. She was then contacted and she provided an estimated time of arrival. I remember it was blazing hot that day and it was June (I am sorry.......these are details), and she came to the hospital with her hair still wet from the shower. As I said earlier, she was amazing......she was 'there' but ''not there.' I think the word I am looking for is unobstrusive.

I am so sorry. (((((Hugs))))) I hope you do not need their services, but, yes, I would encourage you to call and speak with them in advance. My dd had someone from NILMDTS come to the hospital when her 2nd baby boy was stillborn. I was one of the people in the room with her when the photographer arrived, and three years later I still thank G-d for the amazing young woman who came and took photos. I cannot even begin to describe what a comfort she was to each one of us in the room. She brought a hat and blanket, but we had both already........the teeny hat was actually sent to me by a wonderful woman on this board. I had been knitting the blanket and it was sadly just the right size. The photographer asked the baby's name, and her demeanor was just perfect: respectful, somber, aware, compassionate......I cannot say enough about her. I lost 10 pounds in a flash with Metformin, but just last week my endo increased my dose as my blood sugar is creeping up again. I am tonight reading about Contrave and the other two meds. Thank you to everyone who posted in this thread......I found the info fascinating and helpful.

I know two people who have had it done. The first, M, is a friend of my mom's. She had the surgery done 20 yrs ago. She is a recovered alcoholic (forgive me if any of my terminology is incorrect). M was in her 40s at the time of her surgery. She was celebrating 10 years of sobriety (I don't know if any of this is relevant, but since I know these facts, I am sharing them). She lost about 150 lbs rather quickly. Had to take supplements as I don't think she was able to eat more than a few tablespoonfuls of food a day. A friend who is a doctor described M's new eating protocol as starving herself for the rest of her life. About 10 years ago, M began drinking again. That was the first I had ever heard about that being a concern in individuals with a history of addiction. She entered rehab. The life she had built for herself (Master's Degree, bought a house, active in many activities) is no longer the life she is living. I believe she was in counseling throughout the process. I don't know why it did not work. A friend of a friend had lap band surgery about 10 years ago. She wanted to lose about 60 pounds. She had no health issues. She just wanted to lose the weight. Ten years later, the weight is still off. She looks fabulous. She seems fabulous. My friend tells me that she essentially still runs to the bathroom to vomit after every meal which is only a tablespoon or so of food. The woman who had the surgery done says she would do it again in a heartbeat.......she does not mind the collateral GI issues with which she deals. Best wishes whatever you decide.

Garga: I cruise through here once in awhile, and your post caught my eye as it is an issue we have dealt with regarding DS who is 14 yrs, 3 mos. Eighteen months ago we went to the pediatric endocrinologist to have blood work done, questions asked and answered as everyone ds knew was having a growth spurt, but not DS. I AM 5'2" and dh is 5'4".......... Not much genetic material for ds to count on. Pediatric endocrinologist said that with all the hormones at correct levels (and they were), she would use the old double your child's height at age 2 and that is a fairly reliable predictor of adult height. I retrieved ds' height charts, and I think it said he would be 5'6". Anything less than that apparently can be treated with growth hormones and most insurance companies will cover it. So, ds missed that cut off mark. He was distraught as he remained the shortest kid everywhere he went. Literally, one month ago, he began growing. He is probably 5'5" now......taller than dh. I read up on everything I could, and learned that sleep is vitally important. The hormone that causes growth or the protein that causes growth or something, is only released after X number of hours of continuous sleep. DS' sleep patterns had been awful. Once they improved (we insisted he get on a schedule), we saw him grow about two months later. FWIW, my son in law, who is 6' something, was the shortest kid everywhere he went, and he had his growth spurt in college. I hope this helps. I do know that friends have had insurance cover growth hormones with a child psychologist recommending they be administered for the child's self esteem.

I have an LV damier azur that my dh and kids gave me for my 60th birthday. I thought long and hard about it before giving them the go-ahead........like 3+ years long and hard. I have carried LV since I was in my 20s with other brands here and there. I love them.

So sorry! I had pleurisy many years ago. It did not matter what I did, how I sat, what position I was in......the pain was intense. It took about two weeks to improve. Hope you are better soon.

We have one about 30 minutes from us. I went for the first time about two weeks ago. I was totally awed, and I had to just walk around slowly, looking at everything, and getting my bearings. I was there for the second time a few days ago, and it was an excellent experience again. I can run in and out of Michael's in 5 minutes, but I am not sure I would ever be able to do that at HL.
