Plucky
My washer is on it's last leg. Our dryer has to stay with this house. We have to buy a new set. What color would/did you buy?
Kathleen in VA
I bought white because I'm boring. My w/d are in my garage - no one sees them except us so it didn't matter. I think, too, that by choosing the white I was able to have them delivered the next day because they were in stock at Lowe's and I *needed* them asap. melopher
I just got a new set last year and they are navy blue. I love 'em. Not real flashy, but they have some personality.
Mrs Mungo
I chose white because mine are white. However, if I could have purchased orange or blue or something colorful for the same price I would have.
nakitty
http://www.kittyhell.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/04/hello-kitty-washing-machine.jpg This one! Kidding....but I would love a retro pink set...think 1950's. Or a bright blue would be nice. But, alas, mine are boring old white ones...and only a couple years old so I won't need new ones for quite some time....especially since my dh is handy at fixing stuff...:glare:
sweetfeet
I bought white because I'm cheap but if I were buying again I would get red, orange or blue. There are a lot of cool washers and dryers on the market now. I need something to make me smile when I do laundry.
fivetails
I voted for 'other' because if there was a choice like green, blue, orange, pink, or whatever - that would be my pick! Something bright and colourful and different for a change. :) haha - love the hello kitty one!
Staci in MO
Another color, like blue, would be fun.
readwithem
We recently bought a new front loader, the colors and stainless were > $100 over the cost of white so we went with white.
mommaduck
Red :)
Ria
We just got brand a new LG Tromm Steam Washer and Steam Dryer. Although they have some good colors, I went with white. First, it's a lot less expensive (yes, they charge more for colors!). Second, no matter where I move in the future, I don't have to worry about the color of the appliances clashing with the room decor. Parrothead
I bought white 10 years ago. Next time (soon) I'm going for one of the colord ones. Either Blue or red.
abbeyej
I voted "other", 'cause I'd go with "whatever's cheapest / on sale". I *care* what color the appliances in my kitchen are. But in the laundry room? (Okay, laundry closet in a corner of the bathroom, lol...) Nah.
Holly IN
I voted other....My color would be RED if money wasn't an object!!! However we just bought new ones and they are white. We found out it was $300 each to get color. Holly
Tammyla
We purchased a new set this year and went with white. It was cheaper and shows less dust, link & gunk. My sister has a black set and she's always cleaning them. ;)
JFSinIL
I'd pick whatever I could get cheapest. If the floor model is plaid - plaid it is ;) If this machine will be visible in your house, go with what fits your decor. I'd shy away from steel, though - I hear it shows more fingerprints, etc.
Krista in LA
Red, or some other fun color.
Ellie
Most other colors are trendy. I guess there's nothing *wrong* with trendy; it's just obvious when you look at the appliances that they are [insert # of years] old, lol.
starlashine
I realllly want one of those red ones by LG.
Michelle in OK
We bought white. I would have loved the blue but the white was about $100 cheaper per piece.
unsinkable
I voted for 'other' because if there was a choice like green, blue, orange, pink, or whatever - that would be my pick! Something bright and colourful and different for a change. :) haha - love the hello kitty one! I'm with you!
ticklbee
If cost wasn't an issue then definitely red.
Tap
I bought white because I figured the darker new colors would look dusty from the lint. The last thing I want is another thing to dust more often! If that wasn't a problem, and there was no price difference...I love cobalt or navy blue. Tap
Laurie in CA
a month ago and they don't show anything. They look nice and I haven't even cleaned them yet because I've been too busy. Dust doesn't show on them either. That's why my husband and I both have silver cars. Laurie in CA dd(14) TOG and other stuff
Happy
Colorful! I saw screaming red washer and dryer set not long ago. Instant craving. Shoot, the laundry is a boooooooooring room that no one but family ever sees. Bright red appliances would make the chore more fun. If I could find a set in rich, royal purple, I'd bring 'em home. Life's Too Short to Be Boring.:D
RedHen6
If money was no object, I would buy red--or maybe blue. But I am cheap, so I *really* would just end up getting the white!
OnTheBrink
RED, BABY!
Mary in NJ
We recently bought a new set - the color is diamond dust. I was not happy with the "sleek" look of the set. But now, I like it. Has the stainless steel look, but the powdered spray, so NOOOOO fingerprints on these babies! By the way it is a HE top loader. I love it. Joyfully, Mary
Sparkle
I'm with the others - I would pick a fun color - but if that's not an option then I would get bisque or white. I'd stay away from black or stainless steel.
Lostinabook
I picked other since I'd get whatever is cheapest. Blue or Red would be fun, but white would probably be less likely to show smudges, etc.
~Tara~
What IS it about those red machines? If I could get a color for the same price (cheap!) as white...I'd totally go for red!! I think the orange out right now is pretty darn nifty too...but I'm on a big red kick right now. :)
akmommy
We have black LG frontloaders. We went with black because when we bought the house a year and a half ago it had an almost brand new stove and built in microwave that are black. The laundry room is off the kitchen so we thought it would be nice for them to match. Hopefully we will need to replace the dishwasher and fridge soon because they are '70's style mustard yellow.:ack2:
Mamagistra
I will take any color*, as long as I get the latest LG high-efficiency front-loading stackable jumbo w&d. Oh, how my life would improve! :D *But I'd love to have orange. :001_smile:
Plucky
Thanks everyone. I love the red appliances, too. We will probably go white though now that I think about it. I want to get some good appliances. They are so expensive! Thanks again.
Tina
I voted white, tho they are all 'neutral'. I guess it seems like it would be the easiest to maintain, and that the laundry room would be brighter with the light bouncing off the white. Also, the room would likely look bigger if they matched the walls. :)
Dayle in Guatemala
I would totally do red because it's my favorite color. But, then, years down the line I would say to myself, "Why did I buy red? Why didn't I go with white since it's more neutral?"
