I scored a 118.5, but I worked at a radio station and played in a band in the 80's. Have fun!!!! shell
Beth in Central TX
That's hard to do with just the words; if I could sing the chorus in my head, some of the words came back though.
OnTheBrink
I got 62.7. It's hard to concentrate with all the noise in here! LOL
Kat in GA
I don't want to admit to my score! I can remember lots of things about the 80's...but lyrics are not my strongsuit. Funny...but my blog entry today was about trivia!
j.griff
I only got 71, but I was a teen in the 90's :)

Amy in Orlando
LOL - I had to quit 1/2 way through b/c I'm on my way out the door - my score was 51. I'll try again later. Jennifer in MI
Ummm . . . 57. I graduated from high school in 89. When I read over the answers I knew most of the songs but couldn't pull them out of my head when written like that! Fun quiz!
Jenny in Atl
Got a 93.. no surprise as I'm not a top 40 fan. I was a alternative teen.. LOL

angela in ohio
Only a 52!!! I missed most of the early 80s, I'm sure, as I was still young then. ;) I missed most of the hard rock songs, but boy I knew the cheezy love songs. I did get all the bonus questions right... Sue G in PA
What a fun trip down memory lane. My kids kind a wondered why mom was humming at the computer, though! :)
Susan in IL
I got a 32.5 but I that included 20 mom bonus points. :D Even said "hi mom". Lorna in the boonies
I only got a 28.5! I graduated in '85 -- does it help my cause any if I say that I went to high school in Turkey? (When I saw the answers, I remembered a *bunch* of them that I *should* have gotten right.)
Plaid Dad
100.5. (Sounds like a fever, doesn't it?) So that's why there's no room in my brain for useful information - all the space it taken up with '80s pop music lyrics!
Mama Lynx
Er ... I got 151 :)
Mamagistra
Er ... I got 151 :) I knew you'd do well. I managed a lowly 93.5...sounds like the FM station on which I listened to all this stuff! :D
Closeacademy
I got a 29. I was a teen in the '80s but we only had four channels out in the country and none of them were MTV! And I always had a book under my nose so I never really listened to the radio on the bus even though it was turned to top 40.:)
dirty ethel rackham
Only a 53??? I really was a child of the 80's and of MTV! Granted - 10 misspellings (forgetting tenses, etc.) really hurt me.
Kris
Well, I still *acted* like a teen in the '80s -- but I guess that wasn't good enough. ;-)

Mom2legomaniacs
I only got an 89.5. There were so many that I was really close on, but couldn't quite pull it off. ANd the Stoopid misspellings really got me too!;) It was fun though!

Janna
That was hard! And now I have that stupid "Electric Avenue" song stuck in my head. Of all of the songs, why that one!? Dh will enjoy this, though he grew up in the 70's. Thanks for posting. It was fun. Brought back a lot of memories! :)

melissel
Wow, 106! What made it so hard was having each successive song in my head, making it hard to call up the next one! And I missed a few just because I wasn't paying close enough attention to my typing  So fun though :-) DH is taking it later. Sasharowan
34.5 here. I could see the videos from half of them but couldn't remember the words, and others I misspelled.
Rich with Kids
How many of you spent hours in front of the T.V. watching MTV? I remember the first video ever played. Video Killed the Radio Star by the Buggles. Do you remember when Michael Jackson's videos would air on Prime Time regular T.V.? I am amazed at how much my mom let me mold in front of the boob tube watching Hall and Oats and Night Ranger.
Mama Lynx
But then I took the 90s quiz and got a 19.
Plaid Dad
How many of you spent hours in front of the T.V. watching MTV? This is me. I used to do all of my homework stretched out on the living room floor, on the phone with my best friend, while both of us watched MTV and kept up a running commentary on how annoying Martha Quinn was. It's amazing I have any brain cells left at all.
Beth in Central TX
Yep, if I wasn't watching MTV, I was listening to albums on my RECORD PLAYER. How dated is that?
chiguirre
Hmm, that explains my lame 55.5. I never watched MTV because my parents wouldn't spring for cable.
nukeswife
I got a 157.5 but I am a big 80's music buff and my dh calls me "A fountain of useless 80's knowledge" LOL I then took the 90's quiz and got an 11
OhM
My result: "Your generation stuck mine with a motherload of cultural horrors (bradys! disco! plaid! roller skating!). -30% for being a yuppie. 5 point bonus for telling me where you saw this. Thanks! Final Score: 56.8" -30%????!!!!!! So does that mean I'd really have an 86 if I wasn't born in the late 60's? (Indignantly) And I was never a yuppie! Graduated in 85 - had a lot of misheard lyrics in there! (So close...)
dangermom
Um. I'm a little embarrassed to say that I got 126. I would have gotten more if my brain hadn't locked up from all the songs running through it. Yes, I listened to a lot of radio. We didn't have MTV though; my mom is morally opposed to paying for TV. Dangit, I went through the answers and a couple were marked wrong when I got them right! And I had a couple of typos. I could have done better!
Kay in Cal
Got an 80.5... not sure if that's good or bad? But it was kind of fun to sing the old songs again. I graduated in '88, if that matters.
melissel
OK, I got a 19.5 on the 90s quiz. How is that even possible? Did I sleep through the 90s???? And I think THIS... 66. Make a little birdhouse in your soul Two nerd filled points!!! Did having this song stuck in your head mess you up on the next one?? I've seen the mere mention of this song cause people to try and recite the whole thing. ...is just a tad uncalled for  Hmph!
StaceyinLA
not too bad. I had a couple where I missed one of the two words and some that I just can't believe I missed, but hey, it's been awhile!
Ann
Ok so my husband is right and I must of slept through the 80's. He is going to do the quiz and I know that he is going to do great! I lived in Canada so we did not have MTV which is why I did not do well. That is my story and I am sticking to it!

Frankie
Okay, this is saaad. I got a 26.5 And of that 26.5, I got one 10-point question correct: 83. Warm smell of colitas Rising up through the air Ok either 1)You've read The Straight Dope or 2)You are a god. Either way 10 points. That is from one of my all-time favorite songs, though. In my defense, it's 2 am, I'm exhausted. I bet had I done this tomorrow I would have scored much higher. I graduated high school in 1983. Shame on me! FlockOfSillies
I would have gotten a few more points if I hadn't had my kids making all kinds of noise in the background.
Volty
136.5 I graduated in '89 and (mostly) hated 90s music and have spent this decade in China without a radio. What I listen to is mostly 70s and 80s rock music.

I'm afraid to take the 90s one. 1990 was still good, grunge was OK ... edited.... 14.5 on the 90s.
