If he didn't have to pay tax, we'd be at break even; as it is, he's hoping that this job will lead to good contacts and more jobs. Anyway, it's a good day. IIRC your DH is in the same industry as mine, and if so, consulting contracts can definitely help with finding a permanent position. I don't know what your local economy is like, but at least here in the States, the prospects are brighter than they've been in a long time.
