KidsHappen
Mine are: Charmed (This is what brought me back to tv after a good 15 year hiatus, it lead to Angel which was in the following timeslot which of course lead to Buffy and then the whole Whedon universe.) Buffy the Vampire Slayer (Watched 5 or 6 times now. Needless to say we love it. We own the cd for the musical episode and the entire family knows all of the words to the whole thing. "They got the mustard out!") Angel Firefly Dollhouse (Need to watch again. I didn't follow so well the first time and given Whedon's genius I am going to assume it was me not the show.) (Yes, I am a Whedon groupie) Smallville The show which shall not be named that wasted 6 years of my life Fringe (by far my favorite ever and if JJ does not bring this to a stupendous conclusion I swear I will never watch another thing by him) Bones Psych Lie to Me (why did they end this one?) Monk Big Bang Theory (A favorite for this family of geeks. "I'm not crazy. My mom had me tested.") Eureka Grey's Anatomy (Seriously) Vampire Diaries Jericho (Excellent. Highly Recommended.) Tudors (I understand artistic license but now I have a hard time keeping straight real history and Tudor history.) That 70's Show Friends (watched at least 6 or 7 times) Everybody Loves Raymond (maybe but me not so much) DWTS Invasion (we loved it and hated that it ended) 4400 (another good one with poor conclusion) Roswell Warehouse 13 (wish it had continued) Flash Forward ( I really wanted to see this go on) Heros (another great show with horrrible ending) 24 (haven't finished yet) What about you? Any great recommendations for the summer break? ETA: I forgot Glee. A concession to my hubby. Edited June 15, 2012 by KidsHappen

danybug
We have not had tv service in about 5 years, so I am probably not the best person to chime in. But since you said the last 15 years I figured I had some input ;) The Office: dh and I love this show way to much. We have all the seasons on dvd and watch the heck out of them. My mom gave my kids a few seasons of ALF on DVD and my kids have gotten a real kick out of it. And my dh and I have enjoyed remembering things in it from our younger days. Our family also loves Seventh Heaven, which we own all the seasons. Growing up I think I might say my favorite show was Fresh Prince. I know a strange pick ;)

Buffy came out in '97 (although there was an unaired pilot in '96) and Angel three years later. Buffy framed my parameters. Even though I started with Charmed, Buffy was the oldest. fraidycat
Friends is my all-time fave. I have them on DVD and have probably watched at least 20 times. I can take many real life moment and connect it to a Friends episode, at least once per day. I also like: Law & Order + SVU + Criminal Intent Bones How I Met Your Mother Yes, Dear Reba Gilmore Girls That 70's Show I'll also watch any of the CSI's or other crime dramas (NCIS) if they're on and I'm watching t.v. (which is rare - I usually watch Netflix or DVDs late at night) In the "reality" (HaHa) arena, I like: Ice Road Truckers IRT: World's Deadliest Roads Pawn Stars American Pickers Deadliest Catch Flip This House Hoarders Parking Wars Storage Wars The First 48 Dirty Jobs Mythbusters All Worked Up Forensic Files Lizard Lick Towing Top 20 Most Shocking World's Dumbest Pretty much all of the "reality" shows that I watch are because my DH and/or Dad watch them. I rarely ever even turn on a t.v. when left to my own devices. I'm more likely to pick a book or go on the computer if I'm looking for mindless entertainment. Seinfeld (ended 14 years ago, I looked it up :D ) Friends SVU (I think it's still on, but I only really watched in the early years.) Then came the six years I call my pop culture gap. I worked/went to class pretty much from when I woke up to when I went to sleep the last two years of high school and all of college. No TV viewing to speak of. More recently... Wheres Toto
We have very similar tastes in tv. :D Mine are: Charmed -yup Buffy the Vampire Slayer (Watched 5 or 6 times now. Needless to say we love it. We own the cd for the musical episode and the entire family knows all of the words to the whole thing. "They got the mustard out!") I have that season on DVD and own the soundtrack. Whenever I'm asked what my favorite quote is: "Life's not a song, life isn't bliss, life is just this....it's living." Love it. Angel -yup Firefly -yup Dollhouse -yup Fringe (by far my favorite ever and if JJ does not bring this to a stupendous conclusion I swear I will never watch another thing by him) Yes to all of the above Bones -yup Psych -yup Big Bang Theory (A favorite for this family of geeks. "I'm not crazy. My mom had me tested.") - Definitely. Only show that always has me laughing out loud. Eureka -yup Vampire Diaries -Nope but we were watching Secret Circle right after by the same author. Jericho (Excellent. Highly Recommended.) -Agree! But I was so disappointed it ended so fast. That 70's Show - yup Friends (watched at least 6 or 7 times) -yup Others: Grimm NCIS Law & Order (only the original and SVU though. Criminal Intent is annoying). House Fallling Skies Terra Nova - I am so disappointed that this has been cancelled. I'm hoping it will be picked up by a cable channel. Sanctuary The Simpsons Seinfeld I've never been a fan of "reality" television. I am much more likely to go for the science fiction, so as far as possible from reality. :D
nono
I enjoy a lot of shows, but I cannot even involve myself enough to know the characters' names. My dh is slightly batty about this. So, given that, there are two shows that I can name in the last 15 years where I know the actors or presenters....and they are: Frasier Dancing With the Stars Serously. I guess I'm not heavily invested in most creative TV programming. Yet, I spent my younger years in the television business. Go figure! I'm definitely not anti-TV. ereks mom
Lost - minus the last episode (still have *issues* about it) ME TOO! (Sorry for shouting, but I feel very strongly that the last episode was a big fat dud! It did not even come close to doing justice to the rest of the series. As for my favorite television shows of the last 15 years, my favorites are: My #1 all-time favorite is Star Trek: The Next Generation (Although it technically ended 18 years ago, it lives on in syndication.) Others I have loved, in no particular order, include: Sue Thomas, F.B. Eye Big Bang Theory Psych Monk Eureka House Hunters & House Hunters International I keep hearing good things about Jericho, Flash Forward, Fringe, Warehouse 13, Firefly, and 24, so I figure we'll get around to them sooner or later.
