MomtoCandJ
Dh can't find his phone and it's dead.... We think dd2 had it so if you were a 20 month old, where would you hide daddy's phone??? I have checked the usual places and am having dd1 throughly clean her room and I'm folding clothes to see if she stuck the phone in one of the baskets but otherwise we have no clue where it could be. To make it worse dh seems to think that him sitting on the couch will find his phone grrrrrr oh well he's keeping dd2 entertained

73349
In the toy box, or anything that will open and close, including low cabinets. In any interesting little slot, such as between a bed and a wall. Into a case or pocket for it, which might be made of a bathrobe, costume, towel, etc. Near a pet's bed, in case it needs to make a call.
Stacia
The trash can. Or the toilet.

Cinder
In my pants/diaper/undies. My first thought as well. We often lose things when we sit on the couch. They fall out of pockets and slide down into that crack between the bottom and the arm of the sofa. The space so tight you have to sit on the sofa so the springs will compress enough for you to fit your hand into it. Maybe it's with the dishes or in a pot/pan. Or in the dryer or laundry hamper. Or in the cat/dog bed.

Kerileanne99
I once found mine after two days where dd3 had hidden it in the metal toilet paper cannister next to the toilet. The cannister suddenly started vibrating and rattling whilst I was attending to business. It scared the crap out of me! No, not literally:)
kirstenhill
Not just under the couch cushions...but shoved into a small crevice adult fingers bare fit into under the cushions. At least, we found one of DH's phones in a spot like that (three weeks after we replaced it, unfortunately).
Jan in SC
When my oldest ds was that age, he put my dh's in a sink of hot, soapy water.
Southern Ivy
We found our whole drawer of spoons in the hidden compartment of her ride-on toy. If you have anything like that, worth a shot. In with baby dolls? The drawers/fridge/microwave of a play kitchen? On a bookshelf between books? In bathroom drawers? In the back of a recliner (the back tends to pull away on most recliners)?
DawnM
All of our missing stuff ends up being in the area behind the cushions where things can fall down into an area you have to stick your hand down to get. I hate sticking my hand down there, but we find all sorts of things in there.
Word Nerd
Trash can (my older DD tossed my keys in when she was about that age) Inside a toy oven, dollhouse, or other similar toy
JFSinIL
At that age I came out of the bathroom (I dared use the facility since the three kids were watching Blue's Clues) and the house was full of white smoke - dd, 2, had microwaved a calculator. My vote is, if Daddy wants it, Daddy can help look for it.

wapiti
Any toy bag/purse/backpack/lunchbox or similar small container. We've had things hiding in the ride-on toys too.
Lawana
My granddaughter put her daddy's work phone in the pocket of the back child carrier. Three days later, he asked her where it was and she went right to it. That was before she was verbal enough to answer, so probably less than 2. ksr5377
When items are missing and we think our 1 year old is the culprit, I have found it helpful to get down and crawl on hands and knees to see what's accessible. Last time I found the TV remote on a shelf I checked twice while standing.
displace
Another vote for in a shoe or under a couch. Maybe behind a door or in a drawer/cabinet depending on reach. Possibly in a bed or toy box under some toys (buried).

MomtoCandJ
Found it in my car, dh have to dd1 to play a game (it was her's for games until his windows phone broke and he's not due for a new one until March so he's using her phone). It was in the back seat under a bag, I went to get dd1's soccer jersey out when I seen the silver edge.
