Wednesday is my big Amazon arrival day. My husband puts money into my account on Monday for non-essential things, so I can't resist making an Amazon order then.

Tuesday are the things I squeaked in over the weekend, or things I overnight. Here's what arrived yesterday:

  • iLuv iMM747 Audio Cube Hi-Fidelity Speaker Dock for iPad, iPad 2, iPhone and iPod (Black) - overnighted, yay

  • Birds of a Feather 300 pc Jigsaw Puzzle by White Mountain - DD6 started it as soon as it arrived and finished it by the time I looked again. Sigh, that wasn't worth it, even though it was on sale. Good thing 500 and 1000 piece puzzles are arriving today.

Tomorrow here's what's arriving:

  • Ravensburger Puzzle Store - yes, we love puzzles!

  • Number the Stars , Lois Lowry

  • My Side of the Mountain (Puffin Modern Classics) , Jean Craighead George

  • The Cabin Faced West , Jean Fritz

  • The Reluctant Dragon , Kenneth Grahame, Michael Hague

  • Not Amazon, but RFP new MCT Literature program is arriving

  • Small order from RR should arrive any day now

Your order reminds me to order the Buffalo Games Puzzle because these are larger-sized pieces than the normal ones. We finished the Bluebirds and I should really place an order for another one soon. They have 300 pieces and the pieces are easier for a younger child to hold and look closely.

Wired or wireless (like for a built in DVD)?

Well, both or either I suppose. My Yukon has a built in DVD, but dh's Tahoe does not. I am more concerned with them actually fitting on a toddler's head. I bought some at either Target or Walmart that were *advertised* as being for children when my older dd was three, but they didn't adjust small enough. Now I am hoping for some for 20-month-old dd. She will be 22 months when we go and is big for her age. I am trying to figure out whether to get a DVD player for the Tahoe (it gets better gas mileage than the Yukon, so we will take it on vacay) or some other sort of game or listening device for the trip.

Regardless, I need a pair that will adjust small enough to fit and stay on her head.

The headphones are great, but be sure to watch that she isn't interested in pulling off the pads. That is usually what happens to ours. I actually plan on gluing these.

  • 2 weeks later...

Guillotine by Wizards of the Coast

Frog Juice by Gamewright

Rory's Story Cubes by Gamewright

Movie:

ER: The Complete Eighth Season

(of course the library member finally decided to return this to the library, so I may return it. I may not, though, because library DVDs have so many problems with them. I never figured out what people do to them that makes them so scratched.)

Book:

The Liberty Tree: The Beginning of the American Revolution (Picture Landmark) [illustrated] [Hardcover] by Lucille Rech Penner

I don't order from Amazon if I can help it, but I'm waiting for my first order from Book Depository in MONTHS! I only ordered them the day before yesterday so they'll probably show up at the end of next week, maybe. It's a bunch of stained glass style colouring books for our 'Letter of the Week' messing around. You know, 'H is for Hydra,' 'Z is for Zombie.'

We need to get our taxes done so I can put in an order for next year's stuff and Christmas presents. Then I shall be able to sneak in something for ME! I want that Einstein Syndrome book that has been so recommended here.

:)

Thank you so much! I'm going to show this to DH, the post man, and all the other people who insist I must be Amazon's best customer. You've definitely beaten me :D.

Best wishes

new water pump for my washing machine do-it-yourself repair job. :D

DH and I are going to save some $$$ and fix it ourselves.

At least that's the plan.

Good luck! My husband always fixes our washer. It's so much cheaper than hiring someone. I fixed our furnace once too. :)

We found a local company who sells parts for appliances, and they have been very helpful and inexpensive.

At least that's the plan.

I just had the same part replaced on my washer. Front loader? It generally just pops out and back in.

I watched the repair guy fix it (under the guise of keeping the dogs off him ;)). I should be able to do it myself if the pump goes bad again--which it seems they frequently do. There was one clamp that gave him a bit of trouble (Our machine is a Kenmore made by Whirlpool.). Other than that, it looked pretty simple.

Oh, and according to the receipt, I would have saved about $100 fixing it myself. I pretty much knew it was the pump.

One more thing: If you have a shop vac you can suck the water out to make the job a lot less messy (Remove the filter and empty the vac first.). Just pull the drain hose out, stick the shop vac hose in it, use your hand to kind of seal it off and turn the vac on. You'll be able to tell when it's got it all out. ETA: If there's been water in the machine, it's going to stink. :tongue_smilie:
