kalphs
This week's question is, "Do you drink your hot chocolate with marshmallows or no marshmallows?"
BeckyFL
Both. :001_smile:
Mejane
Marshmallows - blech. :tongue_smilie:
lionfamily1999
Both, it depends on the cocoa. If it's made from scratch, no marshmallows (the cocoa is already too rich), if it's the powdered gunk, LOTS of marshmallows (to disguise the waterness). myfatherslily
No marshmallows :)
AlmiraGulch
Marshmallows. For sure. Unless I buy it out somewhere, like Starbucks or a restaurant, and then sans marshmallows.
plain jane
No marshmallows here. :ack2: My kids love them but while I'm not the most health conscious person by any stretch, I can't bring myself to buy those horrid things. We don't do hot chocolate very often so I figure that's treat enough. :) I prefer to top ours with real whipped cream. Yum.
JFSinIL
No marshmallows! Disgusting things! Bleah! (I hate whipped cream on stuff, too!)
Country Mouse
Since I discovered vegan marshmallows at Whole Foods, I drink my cocoa with marshmallows!
Caitilin
Whipped cream if possible; marshmallows in a pinch.:)
Word Nerd
Yes, please! I like it with or without but prefer whipped cream over marshmallows.

SeekingSimplicity
No marshmallows! Disgusting things! Bleah! (I hate whipped cream on stuff, too!) :iagree: marshmallows are the nastiest things created by man, right after diet mt dew. (but I love whipped cream)
Ellie
Well, it depends. The purpose of marshmallows--and whipped cream--originally was to keep that nasty skin from forming on the top of the hot milk as they melted...back in the day when people made hot chocolate from actual milk. Today, most people just use a package of something and pour it into a cup of hot water. So if I'm making *real* hot chocolate, I'll use marshmallows or whipped cream. If it's out of a package, then no.
Karen in CO
No Marshmallows! They have cornstarch on them. Corn products give me migraines.

Teachin'Mine
What??? No poll??? :w00t: Ah well - I'd have answered the obligatory other anyway. :D Sometimes marshmallows, but rarely. More often, whipped cream. :)
Catwoman
Campfire brand mini-marshmallows or whipped cream. I also add some half and half to my hot chocolate. Basically, if it's not completely loaded with sugar and fat, I'm not going to bother drinking it. ;) Cat

Amy in NH
I still use milk to make hot-cocoa. And we use a small scoop of vanilla ice-cream instead of marshmallows.
AngieW in Texas
17yo and 12yo with marshmallows 15yo and I without marshmallows dh is a hot chocolate abstainer
RoughCollie
DH doesn't drink cocoa or any hot drinks. The rest drink it with whipped cream or marshmallows. I drink it plain, but have nothing against marshmallows. DD and I drink Hershey's cocoa. The boys drink Swiss Miss, made with milk. The kids drink cocoa every day in winter. Laurie4b
No marshmallows, and less sugar than the recipe calls for. Love it!
gardening momma
I would eat the marshmallows and leave the hot cocoa. :tongue_smilie:
Imprimis
A few years ago I discovered these handcrafted Marshmallows from Williams-Sonoma, and that was it....they are now the only marshmallows I like in hot chocolate. The downside---very expensive, the upside---only available around the holidays, so it's a special treat to look forward to each year. I even give them as Christmas gifts, and they are a big hit :001_smile:

LuvingLife
No marshmallows unless that's the only thing left, but on occasion I use fluff, it tastes much better!
Cinder
No marshmallows for me, but I will take whipped cream. A couple of my dc like mini marshmallows in theirs. One doesn't. He prefers to let the hot chocolate cool down to the point where he just chugs it. Marshmallows would just get in the way.
mcconnellboys
Any way I can get it!

myfunnybunch
Whipped cream! With sprinkles and chocolate syrup if the boys can talk me into it. But marshmallows if I don't feel like whipping the cream. Cat
