mom2agang
We are looking at the name Sadie. Old fashion but not over used like Olivia Isabelle or Ava. Is it too old fashion? Her whole name will be Sadie Josephine ( Sadie Jo)

Margo out of lurking
Love it! :) :iagree: I like Sadie. I'm old enough that Ava seems glamorous, Olivia seems exotic. Sadie is one of those old names that is now new.
mooooom
is a Sadie Margaret. I love it.

NanceXToo
Sadie is a beautiful name. So is Sadie Josephine. If she gets CALLED "Sadie Jo" though, that sounds very "country" to me or something though lol. (Not saying whether that's a good or bad thing, lol, that would depend on you- I'm just saying)! TN Mama
Sadie is a precious name. Don't know if it matters to you, but I think it is also a form of Sarah.
DianeW88
I love the name Sadie. I have a friend who used it, but her dd spells it Saydie. Normally, I'm not a huge fan of alternative spellings, but I liked this one. leighp
I know a few new babies named Sadie. Cute name! Sadie Jo doesn't sound country to me.

Tree House Academy
I love the name Sadie so much that, since I am done having kids and never got to use the name on a girl, I named one of my dogs the name instead. I also have a love for the name Josephine - my grandpa had a friend who could never remember my name, but very lovingly called me Josephine. It is a fond memory. :)
abbeyej
"Sadie" is lovely, but it was originally used as a nickname for "Sarah" -- and you've already got a Sarah. Otherwise, I think Sadie is fine. :)
JFSinIL
I love it...only old folks will think "Sadie Sadie Painted Lady". I am still waiting for some more Jeans to show up - my Jean is turning 17 and is STILL the only Jean under 50 we know of!!!! I never knew Sadie was a nickname for Sarah. I doubt it matters. Jean is French for John. I have both. Also a Jaclyn - Jack is a nickname for John! At least my Joe is different!
jujsky
I know of only one other Sadie. I think it's a very sweet name :)
LibraryLover
You mean the song from Funny Girl? "I think it's Sadie, Sadie, Married Lady." I think it's a very cute name! Farrar
I really like it too, but I always look at the Baby NameVoyager for names and you can see Sadie was trending upwards and may have just peaked, so it could be a name that really dates her in the future a little bit. But I do really like it.

LazyDazy
Love that name! I wanted to name one of our babies Sadie but, we had sons... We have two nieces with the middle name Josephine. Great choices.
silliness7
That is hilarious. I know an Olivia, Isabelle, and Ava all born the same time as my youngest. They sounded original at the time to me. I guess I don't get out much. :001_smile: But I do love Sadie!!
Brenda in FL
I think it's a cute name - but - all your children have biblical names - have you considered how this child might feel about having a name different from all her siblings? Caitilin
The only Sadies I have ever met were doggies. :) I like the name, but for me personally, it's become a pets only name.

thescrappyhomeschooler
I like Sadie. Very cute for a little girl, and still appropriate for a grown woman.
Crimson Wife
In general, I love the name Sadie. BUT, you already have a "Sarah" and it seems out of place with all your other kids' Biblical names.
Gwenhwyfar
I am still waiting for some more Jeans to show up - my Jean is turning 17 and is STILL the only Jean under 50 we know of!!!! i went to elementary school with a jean ~ she's 32 now. granted, still older than your dd by a lot...but very under 50  re: Sadie ~ immediately makes me think of Sadie Hawkins
Carpe Diem
I think Sadie is cute but I couldn't use it because I know too many canines with the same name. No offense to the human Sadies out in the world. I also think of Sadie Hawkins. I do LOVE Josephine. I think that would make a great first name. With that said, I think you should name your baby Sadie Josephine if that is what you love.
hsbaby
I think it's cute, but also know of too many dogs named Sadie for me to have considered it:)
KuniMom
Beautiful name! We have close friends with a little girl named Sadie. I always call her Sadie Jane (although that isn't her actual middle name, I just like the way it sounds.)

Tap
Not too old, I know at least 5 Sadies that under 10 though so you may want to see how common it is in your area. Sometimes there are clusters, in geographical areas when people hear a name and it sticks with them, and then they use the name for their own child. This baby name ranking site it says it is ranked at 107 and was still going up in the last year recorded. I agree with the other poster who said it is a common canine name FWIW. My SIL has a dalmatian named Sadie (that is why I always notice it when a girl has that name.) OMG I was just coming on here to post the same thing! Maybe it's because I've spent all weekend at yet another dog show so it's fresh in my mind, but there are a LOT of dogs named "Sadie." That being said, we named our daughter "Molly" and THAT is the most popular dog name in the country! :D Good thing she's a dog-show kid! :D astrid (honestly, we just always loved the name--- had nothing really to do with dogs!) dangermom
I am still waiting for some more Jeans to show up - my Jean is turning 17 and is STILL the only Jean under 50 we know of!!!! There's me! I'm 36. My daughter's middle name is Jean (it's a family name) too. About Sadie, I think it's a great name, but I do kind of prefer kids to have grown-up versions to fall back on. (Like, if I wanted a Maggie I'd name her Margaret.) I guess that wouldn't work, though, if the original of Sadie is Sarah and you already have one. Pretty in Pink
I do like the name Sadie, but it doesn't really go with your theme of Biblical names, if that is something you wish to consider this time.
Nicole M
"Sadie" is lovely, but it was originally used as a nickname for "Sarah" -- and you've already got a Sarah. Otherwise, I think Sadie is fine. :) I wondered if it was a nickname. Also, hate to say it, because I do love the name, but I've known several dogs named Sadie. Honestly, I think of it now as a dog's name. ETA: Should have read past the second page before I posted. Whoops.
