fairfarmhand
I am super super picky about shoes. I also hate shopping. So you who love shopping help me find this... I need a pair of sandals. Here are my requirements. 1. Comfy. These need to be my go-to sandals for wearing this summer. 2. No straps between the toes. I think I am the only person on the planet who doesn't wear flip flops, but I cannot stand to have a strap running between my toes. It literally causes me pain. 3. Not looking too masculine or orthopedic. I keep finding sandals that fit the above categories, but they look manly or like something a little old lady would wear. I want some cute sandals. Also, the gladiator sandals make my legs look short and stumpy. So I am not interested in those. I think you have to have fabulous legs to pull off a gladiator sandal and I do not. 4. Have a strap around the back. I don't care for my shoes flopping around. These shoes probably don't exist...but I just thought I'd ask. TrixieB
Chacos? This pair doesn't look too manly or orthopedic IMO. Teva, ECCO, and Merrell make similar sandals. Now I want to go shopping for sandals! Summer is on its way!
purplejackmama
Not sure if these will be attractive enough for you, but this is my go to sandal this season. I think they are cuter in person and they are super comfy! http://www.amazon.com/Teva-Womens-Kayenta-S-Sandal/dp/B008HE6N20
fairfarmhand
I like the Tevas. Amazon had a list of similar listings at the bottom that I liked several of. Do they hold up well? Are they super comfy?
kewb
I hate flip flops. No strap between my toes, thank you. My go to sandals are usually meryll or Clark brand. I keep an eye out for sales because they are pricey.

I keep an eye out for sales because they are pricey. So there are at least TWO of us on the planet. I really like the Clarks. I have some Clarks loafers that I wear constantly. They're my airport shoes because they are easy to get through security with. I hunted some Clarks and found some GREAT prices on Ebay for new Clarks. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Women-S-Clarks-Leisa-Apple-Low-Heel-Leather-Womens-Sandal-Low-Heel-Shoes-Low-/400859305037?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&var=&hash=item5d5513944d
alisoncooks
I love my Keens -- super comfy. I've hiked in them, wore them all day at amusement parks. I think I have the Newport style, in purple. Or maybe the Whisper: http://www.shoebuy.com/keen-whisper/295051/929887 But I love the looks of these in black, for a nicer sandal, but not tried them: http://www.rei.com/product/848397/keen-rose-sandals-womens

Very comfy and I wear them daily. Mine are two years old and still look fantastic. I am adding another pair this year as they have more colors than when I bought them. MrsMommy
I have a pair of Birkenstocks, and they are the most comfortable shoes I've ever owned. These are more feminine-looking than a lot of their other options, and seem to fit your other criteria.
zoobie
Naot sandals are awesome. They're pretty, more delicate looking Birks. Best of both worlds!
fairfarmhand
I knew you all would have some ideas! So many shoes, so little money.
Maus
Naot sandals are awesome. They're pretty, more delicate looking Birks. Best of both worlds! I'll second the Naot recommendation! And even though they look more delicate than Birks, in my experience, they hold up better.
chocolatechip
I LOVE Keens. All but my running shoes and gardening shoes are Keens. I have both the Newport water sandal style and also some nicer leather sandals (not the ones I have as they were discontinued several years ago, but similar.) I usually get mine from REI. Word Nerd
I wish that I had bought an extra pair or two of some Skechers sandals I bought when I was pregnant with my second DD. They were perfect for me and super comfortable. They have lasted a long time but the buckle area is almost too worn out now. I'm also in the I-Hate-Flip-Flops Brigade. SebastianCat
Not sure if these will be attractive enough for you, but this is my go to sandal this season. I think they are cuter in person and they are super comfy! http://www.amazon.com/Teva-Womens-Kayenta-S-Sandal/dp/B008HE6N20 I have the same Tevas and love them. Mine are about 2 years old and going strong. If I wear them out I'll buy the same thing again.
kiana
I don't know about pretty enough, but I *love* my Tevas. I feel exactly as you do about 1, 2, and 4, and they fit the bill in every way. They've also been pretty sturdy.
MFG
I was inspired by this thread! I bought these when I was out shopping today. http://www.dsw.com/shoe/merrell+dahlia+flat+sandal?prodId=293544
Spryte
I love my birks, but I'm limited by my size - I wear a kids' size. It's good and bad - cheaper, but less options. Naots are great, and I adore those, too. The Danskos linked above are pretty fantastic, too, off to see if they come in midget foot sizes. :D Oh! I forgot to say - no flip flops here, either. Nothing between the toes - ouch! And no to the gladiator sandals. But I want something I can wear with jeans, skirts, capris, and to the beach. For hiking I have others (love chacos, for easy hikes in sandals), but for everyday wear... yeah, I want it all in one shoe.
fairfarmhand
I am happy to see that I am not alone in the "nothing between the toes" club. I don't know anyone IRL who's like this. It seems that if you want not between the toes sandals, you are going to have to resign yourself to paying a bit more for them. Either that or settle for grandma shoes. MomsintheGarden
These are my go-to sandals, Crocs Cleo II: http://www.crocs.com/crocs-cleo-ii/11214,default,pd.html?cid=18T&cgid=sandals#start=3 The only bad thing about them is that they eventually wear out. There are 3 of us. I just can't stand something between my toes. My go-to sandals for looking a little more dressed up are Clark's. I have a pair of Chacos, but I find them a little bulky looking and they make my narrow-average feet look like fat clubs. I am super picky as well because I have significant ankle problems and need good support and don't want to wear my running shoes (for walking) all the time.
wendy not in HI
Last summer I bought not one, not two, but THREE pairs of sandals in my search for the perfect walking sandal. We were getting ready to do some traveling and we were moving to the DC area and I wanted to be able to walk comfortably and still wear cute clothes. I bought a pair of black Clarks that i thought I would really love, but they sort of slip to the side of my heal when I wear them. They are okay, but not great. I bought a light tan pair of sandals - can't remember the brand - really cute, but not much of an arch, so not great for a day of walking. They were cute and a nice color, but not what I was looking for. Then my dd was looking for a pair of Chacos (which I don't like - too heavy for me, but she loves) and found a pair of keens that look a little dressier. They were the perfect sandal all summer - not too heavy, cute color, great arch support, cute with a skirt or capris, easy on and off. I wore them all over the mall in DC! http://www.keenfootwear.com/en-gb/product/shoes/women/rose-sandal I bought them in a light tan, and the color stayed nice. I think I might buy another pair this summer in blue or green. Happy shopping! edited to add - that is a UK store, and I'm not in the UK. Sorry (unless you are in the UK!). TechWife
I don't know if you can find this or not. I got mine at academy. This is my second pair of these. I walk EVERYWHERE in them. They are meant for hiking. I know I didn't pay as much as this website said. I want to say they were 30 dollars or so. But I am SO with you about nothing between my toes: http://www.weloveshoes.co.nz/estore/style/skeexp.aspx I have almost worn through my second pair of these. They are fabulous - I've been wearing them for years. With almost daily wear, they last a super long time. I purchase mine at Rack Room Shoes and I have never paid anywhere near the price on this web site, though.
Trilliums
Another vote for Keens. Made me totally rethink shoe comfort. Also do not like anythign between my toes! EWWWW!
clementine
I have the Keen Rose Slides I can't do ANYTHING between my toes either, but I wish I could. I think flip flops are so cute!! I know you said you'd like a back strap, but these do not flop around while on your feet. They stay put & are way easier to put on & take off without using your hands. They last and last! Highly recommended!!!

Jaybee
I have these Tevas: http://www.amazon.com/Teva-Womens-Tirra-Sandal-Black/dp/B003AYLPJ8/ref=sr_1_33?s=apparel&ie=UTF8&qid=1427852813&sr=1-33&keywords=teva+black I bought them two years ago, live in a climate where I wear them all year, and they are still going strong. Very comfortable. I also like Clarks for a little dressier style.
Jerico
*the first time i scrolled by this i thought it said "the quest for the perfect scandel" lol* I also hate stuff between my toys. I wear my keens in the summer. I love how multi-purpose they are and i can chase my kids without breaking my ankle.
plansrme
Naot sandals are awesome. They're pretty, more delicate looking Birks. Best of both worlds! I'm going to third the Naot recommendation if you're looking for something even a little bit cute. If you're looking for ugly, well--I see that's been covered. Extensively. :leaving:
